I got a box of slim jims to snack on. I also got some colored pencils that will be birthday and Christmas presents. So I have Christmas started now 
Talked to one of my friends neighbors today. Friend is in the hospital and not doing very good at all. I am just hoping she can stay comfortable at this time until it's time to go. She wants to go home but unless she agrees to hospice I don't think they will let her do that.
Tomorrow is LaRue community yard sales and the livestock auction. I might leave the house a little earlier than normal to check some of the yard sales. Would love to find some cute ducks tomorrow.

I did the "normal" cleaning in the kitchen, pulled weeds out of the planters on the front porch and planted gourds in one pot there... I want them to climb the post from the porch to the roof.

@wolfgirl569 I have an acquaintance that has or had ducks. She has a pond, but the foxes got there and picked off a duck or two. She probably didn't even know they were in the area until then.

It sounds like you have had a good day. I am sorry about your friend. In Marion (Kansas) they are kicking off Chingawassa Days. It is named for a Native American chieftain, but I do not know what tribe. The festival has nothing to do with Native Americans. Fun and games and music etc. They are having a Dinky Duck race as a fund raiser for the hospital auxiliary group. I do not imagine you want their ducks as they are just rubber duckies.

It was except for the expected news.
LaRue has a festival next weekend. They call it the Orange Bang. Supposedly after the indians that donated the land for the town. The indians probably laughed like crazy as that's the low side of the river so you know what happens a lot. This one mostly honors the man that founded the town by having aridele dogs in the parade as that's what he raised. They will have a duck race too

She is in the hospital. Hospice here will go to your home and help care for you there. She says she wants to die at home.

@wolfgirl569 - If hospice go to her home that would be a good solution. Hospice is a sort of hospital here, but with only palliative cures.

@LadyDuck They have facilities in some areas, but you can be at home too. They come in to help when you decide to stop fighting. They take care of your meds and checkups as you go. In some areas they are able to provide some help taking care of the people too.

Sorry about your friend, I hope she is comfortable too until it's time to go.

I'm not sure why, but I just can't eat those meat stick/Slim Jim thingys. I am not a big fan of processed meats, they don't sit well somehow. But I am glad you got some bargains!

I love most jerky types. I do prefer the true jerky. But it's just as high in sodium.
