The guys are here to start working on the house. I talked with them about the different projects they need to get done and what we'd like to see after they finish.
One of them said they aren't allowed to go under the house and insulate there because the opening is too small
... (The opening is about 1 1/2 feet by 3 feet.) They need the opening to be 2 feet by 3 feet to meet guidelines for that type of work.
They asked if I wanted the old doors after they remove them
... I don't want them. I have no use for them.
It looks like I won't be getting any more sleep until they leave for the day.
I hope everybody is having a good day in your part of the world.

They've been pretty quiet so far... I'm in my bedroom with the door open and Pretty's in her bedroom with the door open. We're both doing stuff online.

You mean to tell me you don't want a bunch of old doors? Gheez! I wonder what they thought you'd do with them?

I hope that you can get the work done. I´d say that the opening is enough unless the workers are very fat
. Thhis is one day when you´ll have to sleep at night.

Neither guy is fat but their contract says they can't work through a hole less than a certain size in case of an emergency... If the house catches fire, they might no get out of the smaller opening fast enough.
Yes, I'll have to sleep in the evening/overnight.

Any insulation in the walls and under the roof will help. And the panel I put in front of the crawlspace opening helped a lot this last winter.
Thanks.
Yes, I'm sure he's doing a good job for you.

I'm not doing any work. I'm reading in my bedroom while they do the work. They'll be here today and tomorrow doing the work.

I am sorry that they cannot go under your house, but I am sure they know the rules.

We don't like strangers in the house, either... These guys seem nice and explained everything they're planning on working on today.
We're really looking forward to having lower bills!

I’ve seen a lot of DIY crafts done with old doors (like making them into desks or tables), and people repurpose them for other things. I can understand him asking. Sorry you can’t get the insulation. My crawl space is small, but they got a furnace under there (and took the old one out!
). Mine might be the minimum size of 3’ x 2’…don’t know, never measured it.
Anyway, you’ll sleep well tonight.

I guarantee I'll sleep tonight.
I only know the size of the opening because a friend made a "desk" for me from a piece of leftover flooring that size. It fit that hole perfectly last fall when it started getting cold outside.

They cleaned up after themselves last fall. I hope they do again this time, too.
Thank you.

Hope having them working in the house isn't too much of an inconvenience or too loud. I bet the new floors will be nice.

So far they're quiet. No new floors, just new doors, windows and insulation. Thanks.
