So, I've been on for a bit about whether or not the wifey's go ahead to try salmon again (for the record, she's never really liked it) would be a success or not, and last weekend I made some teriyaki salmon on cedar planks on the grill, which turned out fabulous (according to me). Did she like it? Shockingly and surprisingly, yes. She did. Now, for me, when it comes to salmon, it needs nothing to "mask" it. I can eat it cooked just with a touch of salt and pepper or even just a twist of lemon and some butter. But I thought she might like the sweetness added with the teriyaki, even though what I was looking for was a honey sesame glaze, but the store didn't have any. And she did. She gobbled it up and I told her to be absolutely honest with me. "You don't have to like it just for my sake." She told me it was good and she would not mind having that again. So, I know teriyaki works, and it works for me as well. If I can find that honey sesame sauce I may try that on the next round. But considering she did actually enjoy it, salmon will go on the menu here much more often. But of course, I won't overdo it. I don't want to ruin a good thing.

Pretty likes fish and might like what you did with the salmon, too. I can't eat fish so we don't buy it.

@porwest Speaking of honey, I bought a Honey BQ sauce and the hubby hated it. I thought it was okay and liked it being "different" from the norm, but I guess it won't be coming home with me again anytime soon.

@kareng I don't mind honey BBQ sauce, although I prefer mesquite or smoky. But there are several kinds and varieties I like and use. The ONLY one that NEVER goes into my shopping cart is Sweet Baby Ray's. I just don't like it.

It is so good for you. I am glad she like this. I had salmon at Longhorn Steak House the other night.

Salmon really is a healthy thing to eat. I suspect we'll have it more often at home. I won't go crazy or anything. But maybe once every other month or so. Me personally, I could eat it way more often than that.

I'm glad you found a way to make salmon that your wife likes. Teriyaki does sound like it would be tasty especially on the grill.

Most of the time, anything teriyaki is good to me. It's just a good sauce and marinade. But yeah, very happy she liked it.

I'm not really a fan of salmon. However, O' Charley's cedar plank salmon is pretty good.

Salmon is my #1 favorite fish with catfish being #2. I have had O'Charley's cedar plank salmon as well and found it to be quite good. Unfortunately, our O'Charley's closed some years ago.

The dish looks pretty interesting and yummy with colorful eatables. Is there any non veg item in here?

I love salmon and cook it in various different ways. One way is to marinate in teriyaki sauce and then poach in a noodle soup with veggies. Delicious!
