The Sound of Silence!

Wow, what is that noise in my house?? It’s SILENCE. Just like Simon and Garfunkel sang about, the sound of silence!!!
Some storms formed over Louisville and didn’t move much. Six hours and nearly an inch of rain later, the temperature not only dipped below 90 but below 80!!!
As a result, my poor overworked but in great working condition A/C unit finally got to take a break. It is rather weird after hearing it nonstop for four days.
Now…if I could get these people to stop texting me, saying, “the people on the news said to check up on the elderly in this heat so I wanted to know if you’re okay.”
The photo is one of the many gorgeous views I had at Red River Gorge earlier this month.

I really do fear for old people in this heat
And babies
And dogs in cars

They may have to arrest me, because if I see a child or a pet in a car, there’s gonna be a broken window REALLY fast.

Who is texting you??? No one has checked on me. The power went out a couple of days ago; and the standby generator kicked in about 30 seconds later. Gotta love that thing. Great photo.

We have lived in this place for over 20 years and are so used to the quiet. We have new people moving in next door and we hope they will be quiet.
Good of them to want to check on you but, as with most things people can go too far.

The sound of silence is at time shattering. I experienced that at the wee hours of the morning
I do not think anyone here will bother to pay attention to what the news would say Not that I have experience anything so far.

We’ve just come out of a “heatwave” and are heading into another this weekend. No AC so we have to grin and bear it. Fortunately it’s not as bad where I am compared to London and the south ( max 25C/77F as opposed to 32C/90F), but still too hot for me.
Glad to hear someone is checking up on you. When you’re on your own, you need that for sure.

I'm glad "elderly" you are doing okay.
We have a few clouds, even if the weather radar says we don't, but no rain yet. I'll try to go out in the morning and mow for a while if I can. We aren't supposed to see dew in the morning, either. We keep hearing heat lightning here.
