The Smallest Post Office

The smallest Post Office in the United States is in Ochopee, Florida in the Everglades.
With a total of 61 square feet, it used to be a storage unit for irrigation pipes for an adjacent tomato farm. A fire had destroyed the former Post Office; and the building was converted in 1953. It serves 3 counties including the populations of the Miccosukee and Seminole Native Americans.
The second smallest Post Office is the Salvo Post Office in North Carolina on the Outer Banks. It measures 8 feet by 12 feet.

I cannot say that I really enjoyed the Everglades, too many mosquitoes.

@porwest We just took a picture and moved on. Right after we did we saw a gator in a drainage ditch. So cool.

Yeah, it must be because it's in the middle of the Glades. Not many people in those 3 counties I hope.

Isn't that adorable! There's one not far from us that might be a close second or third. I haven't seen the one on the outer banks.

That really is a cute "little" post office. when I was young, I remember going on vacation with my parents (to Florida) and visiting the everglades.

@LindaOHio never been to the Keys but have always wanted to go. I almost made it there years ago but our choice of going to the keys got highjacked and we wound up going to Disney. I enjoyed the Disney trip but was looking forward to a vacation that was much more relaxing.

I'm thinking that the 3 counties might be in the Glades which would mean that there are few people in each county.
