A great hobby but not for me

In 1985, when we first moved to Perth, Western Australia, from the country, we became good friends with one set of neighbours. Later, we both moved but still close by to each other. We moved back to the country but stayed in touch with Christmas cards. Now we’re back in the city and we keep our motor-home on their acreage on the outskirts of town.
My friend has become quite involved in making miniature scenes from kits. They are really lovely although it’s not something I want to be involved in. She has a great many little bits and pieces, and a whole heap of specialist tools. I don’t have the patience or the room here but I do love what she’s done.
The photo is of her latest creation. Every piece comes in kit form and has to be put together.

Wow! That looks fiddly as all get out! I wouldn't have the patience for something like that!

@JudyEv That's as bad as the model cars I was given as a teenager... I put them together but, later, realized how much concentration they actually took before they were completed.

@DaddyEvil All that concentration was probably good for you!

@JudyEv It is interesting how different we all are. I had interest in creating dry flower arrangements from anything under the sun

@allknowing That would bore me to tears too but I admire the skill that goes into creating these beautiful arrangements.

My friend is into building mechanical things in kit form. While I appreciate it is a nice hobby it is not for me. It would bore me to tears plus I simply do not have the patience to even try it.

@JudyEv My brother told my aunt who loved doing 1000-5000 piece puzzles how boring it was during an OT session. He refused to go back after. I agree another mind blowing boring activity.

@garymarsh6 Isn't it good we're all different? I like do jigsaws but I do give up on them sometimes.

They are fun to look at, but I don't have the dexterity for that

I'd be too slap-dash. I'd like to get things done rather than spend hours on tricky things.

She just keeps them and displays them. I guess someone else will have to deal with them when she is gone.

That's really nice and I'm sure it took her hours of patience to create it. I wouldn't have the patience or the eyesight to work on something so small.

It is amazing but like you it’s not my thing at all.

They're very pretty but there is quite a bit of expense in buying all the tools you need.

Perhaps she could but I guess most people would prefer to make their own.

Just now
I was never into doll houses, not even as a youngster. That's very pretty though.

That's a beautiful house. But I don't think I can make it.
