I've finished the 6 eBooks I downloaded a few days ago so went back to that site and downloaded 13 more.
This time I downloaded eBooks written by Garth Nix and Diana Wynne Jones. They're all Science Fiction/Fantasy novels and all sounded interesting to me.
If you missed the link I use to download eBooks, I'll show you again. It's called the Z-library Project and the eBooks are all free to download and read. I use the Kindle app on my phone but you can also download the app on your tablet, laptop or desktop. The app is free, too. I download the .epub editions of the eBooks.
This is a legal site. Happy reading!

@DaddyEvil There are none in Italy, but there are two just across the border in Switzerland, it's 10 minutes drive to go there and we had a nice breakfast at a cafe before coming back home.

@LadyDuck There aren't any in our city, either.... I know there are some in Springfield but that's 50 miles away. That's too far to drive even for free books.

Just type in your favorite authors and see if you can find anything new that sounds good for you and your kids.

Uhm... if your laptop has a USB port, when school starts back up in your area, go to Walmart or Target or whatever store and grab a USB drive. A 2 GB drive is less than $3 and will hold hundreds of ebooks.

You're welcome.
All the ones I just finished were from favorite authors...
If you like Scifi/fantasy, then try reading some of the Xanth series by Piers Anthony or try the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich. Both are excellent authors.

It’s great that you have found some authors that you like and can get their books for free. I think it’s a great shame that a lot of youngsters today aren’t into reading at all . I do feel that they are missing out.

@Traceyjayne If you use the Kindle app, the print size is adjustable. As is the background color.

I believe they're missing out, too... And I use a lot of sites online to get free ebooks.
I hope you pass the link on to others who love to read, too.

@DaddyEvil maybe I should download to the iPad ….give me something to do whilst my arm is out of action. I’ve only just started to use the iPad ….the print would be too small on my phone ….

I'm almost sure the paper/ink books you have won't mind if you go looking to see what eBooks are available.

@LindaOHio Pretty won several Kindles a few years ago and gave me one of them... I use mine when my phone has to charge. My phone is getting old enough that it won't charge if it gets moved at all while it's charging.

Depending on what else I need and want to do, I usually read a book a day. I've already started on one of the new books and am enjoying it.

@allknowing Sometimes it's just Pretty shopping because I can't see... Then I listen to my laptop reading books I've already set up for it to read. That's why it took me longer than 6 days to read the previous 6 eBooks I downloaded.
I do like to stay busy, though.

@DaddyEvil When my kids were young, they did a lot of reading whether eBooks or hard bound.
I am not sure if they can still find the time to read now that they are working.

I prefer a paper/ink book but we don't have room for them in this house so the eBooks are the next best thing.

Sounds good. I am reading two free Prime first read books now. They are both pretty good but not enthralling. I use Libby for free books
