She was sent home to die - and she died less than 24 hours later

It all started several years ago with a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Arthritis.
Then it was cancer, and the radiation and chemotherapy necessary to battle it.
She beat the cancer.
Then here came leukemia - and brain lesions - and a collapsed lung - and various other medical ailments.
Thursday morning she arrived at her son's house to be placed on hospice, and we were told it could be anywhere from 2 days to two months.
And late Thursday night/early Friday morning she left us.
I now only have one older sister.

My sincere condolences for your loss.
It's always seemed strange to me the way one illness follows another until the person finally gives up.

I did not know Rheumatoid Arthritis is actually an auto-immune disease, so that right there compromised her immunity, and then chemotherapy for cancer destroys your immune system. And everything started 'moving in'.

JJ, I am sorry that your sister suffered and has passed. 
She sounds like she was a real trooper in her day overcoming so many of her health diagnosis that many would have caved when they received the news.
I hope that you can gather some emotional strength to carry you over this difficult time.

What a journey she endured—with so much strength through every trial. Shirley Kay Ratcliffe Hinderliter sounds like someone who faced wave after wave, and still kept going until her body simply said it was time.
Losing a sister, especially after watching her fight so hard, leaves a space no words can truly fill. But in sharing her story, you’ve honored her courage, her life, and the love that remains.

Wow! She had nearly every horrible disease known to man. Poor lady had to go through all of that and then come home to die in 24 hours. This is just one more reason I don't believe in God. I am so sorry for your loss.
