Have To Do The Cabbage

Or I will be feeding it to the chickens. I already have some small heads outside for them. I will pick the tomatoes finally today too. This might be the last time we make any juice for the year. And I do see a couple of grapes that are starting to ripen now. So before long I will be making jelly. I am going to get a couple of watermelons for jelly if they go cheap too. I finally transplanted the last of my lemon balm yesterday evening. I also got one of the gladiolus transplanted. I hope to do more of those today. When I get them hung up on the fence I will share a picture. I also finished my puzzle last night and then threw it away. It was missing a corner piece. I don't like to pass them on if they are missing pieces. Hope you have a good day.

Shame that the puzzle missed a piece, I hate when this happens. Grape jelly is so good and I also like the jelly from watermelons, they are cheap this year.

@wolfgirl569 Do you need gelatine for making that jelly?

@allknowing No. Whatever fruit or flower you are using, sugar, sometimes lemon juice and some people use pectin to thicken it. I usually just do a long slow cook

We just had bad luck with watermelons this year. The first one we bought made us both sick so we threw it away. The second one we bought I was sick so couldn't cut into it and it started rotting on the kitchen floor so it went in the trash. The third watermelon we bought this summer wasn't as tasty as it could have been. I threw what was left of it in the trash a few days ago. Always before, we ate two or three watermelons a week until Walmart stopped selling them. I don't know what was going on this year, though. You could come and take the gladiolus from our flowerbed if you want them. I have allergic reactions to them now. *shrug*

I have heard people here complain that the watermelon and cantaloupe from the stores weren't very tasty. I have been getting mine at the auction. Wish you were not so far.

Nothing is more frustrating than putting in all the hard work to complete a puzzle only to find that a piece was missing.

Glad it was a corner piece. It didn't take away from the picture.

@moffittjc Glad you found the piece. This one could have been framed as you could make the frame cover the edge a little bit.

@wolfgirl569 On a recent puzzle we were putting together (one that my daughter was going to glue and frame), we thought there was a piece missing, so we started making plans to figure out a way to fill in the hole where the missing piece was (most likely with glue) and then paint over the glue so that it matched the rest of the puzzle, so that at least we could get it framed and hung without a glaring hole showing where the missing piece was. But it turns out that at the very end we found the "missing" piece and all was good with the world! lol

It’s a bummer when you don’t find all the pieces that were supposed to be with it.

I love the smell of lemon balm. Cabbage can be boiled with nearly any meat, and it is a good meal. I hope it doesn't go bad on ya.

I don't like cooked cabbage at all. It's shredded and soaking in salt water

Our tomato plants did not do well this year, I think that it was the place that I dot the plants at, as the pepper plants are no better. Too bad about the puzzle, that is disappointing.

Hope that you get some cheap watermelon for making jelly. My mom makes delicious jelly of many fruits, the best one is guava. I hate when one piece goes missing in the puzzle. The whole set gets wasted.
