I have worried a bit about my up coming wellness appointment with my doctor. It is on the 26th of this month. I have become such a recluse, social anxiety has taken over. It's so hot-- a dry heat. I don't know if I could manage. I wouldn't be drinking or eating before hand so I am a bit fearful of being dizzy due to low blood pressure. That sort of thing. So, I have been twirling it around in my head. I finally called the office this morning and spoke to a very nice receptionist who's name was Mary. She said I could do a telehealth (although I had been told that this time I needed to go into the office since I've done so many video visits in the past that I needed to be seen.) But, Mary said I could and gave me the choice of that or seeing how booked out my doctor is at this time. I opted for the telehealth. So that was a relief. I also asked her if I could get a nurse to come out to my home to give me the shots I need. I need to get my flu shot as well as pneumonia, shingles, tetanus and my COVID. I haven't had it since August 6, 2021. That's a while. She will see if the doctor can put in an order to have a home nurse come out. They've done it before so we shall see. I am so relieved. My social anxiety has gotten real bad. And leaving the house(agoraphobia) is so hard. I am on the second floor of our apartment and some days my knee is strong and I feel little or no pain when I stand on it. But, some days it is very bad. I am doing stretching exercises and they really help. So some days I could get down the stairs and some days I would have to crawl. So pathetic at 73 now aren't I?

I don't have any problem leaving the house as long as I can walk without my sciatica acting up. Some days I get up and move around without pain and some days it's all I can do to get to the bathroom and back without falling down in pain. I had been doing the exercises the internet shows for sciatica but it made the pain worse. My doctor told me to stop doing the exercises and she'd make an appointment for me to get x-rays to see if something besides the nerve was causing problems. She hasn't called back with a time/day for the x-rays yet. I'm glad you can do telehealth and hope your doctor can send a nurse to give you your shots. (I've gotten three or four of the Covid shots and had the two shingles shots I needed so won't need to get any more of those. I don't get a tetanus shot as I had an allergic reaction to the last one of those I got. I don't get flu shots.)

That's good. I know how it is. Some days are good and others bad. I hope you keep on about the x-rays. They might answer a lot of questions. I hope they can send a nurse too. They did before. I usually don't get the flu shot and, I haven't had a tetanus shot in years. I just think that as I grow older I need to be careful and not take risks if I don't have to.

@DaddyEvil I know there is a flu nasal spray, but do not know if it is mRNA.

@celticeagle The flu shots with "deactivated flu germs" always give me the flu so I told the doctor that when she could get the mRNA flu shots, I'd take one. Good luck with the various shots.

I understand. I have gone almost nowhere the past 2 months that I have been off. I'm fine with it. It is kind of ironic when I work at a place with thousands of people and have to deal with hundreds of kids each day. I can go out but I prefer not to.

Nowadays I fully understand. We don't know what to expect out there anymore. I wasn't so bad before COVID. That started it all. I just keep getting worse. I need to get stuff done but if I can't do by phone or online it doesn't get done. With the ugliness Trump has brought to our world I am fearful to go out too.

@celticeagle yeah COVID lockdown and working from here made it worse for me. And like if I can get what I need from Instacart and Amazon then why go to the store?

I am glad you are doing stretching exercises and they help. I would just sit and "bump" down the stairs if my knee did not permit it. My knees like going "up" stairs better than they like "down."

I hope they can get someone to come to the house to give you your shots. That would be one anxiety out of the way.

I'm glad you were able to get a TeleHealth appointment. I'm anxious about going out, only because I wonder if I can make it to a chair. I'm pathetic at 77.

I know how it is. Some days I am really good without a cane and others I hurt so badly and have to hobble around with my HurryCane..

I am glad that you could get a tele-health appointment. I have a loved one that suffers with social anxiety and finds it difficult to leave their home too.
