Were you ever this energetic?

This is my almost 6 year old niece who was told, just up for the day, not to tattle. She said she doesn’t tattle, she informs.
I look at her, and I just want her energy. I asked my dad how old I was when my energy started to fade, and he told me I never really had much because I never felt that great (migraines, anemia, I guess). I know I had way more than now though!
When do you think your energy started to fade? I’ trying my best to get some back.

I feel like I lost my high energy when I quit smoking in my late 30's.
That was coincidentally about the same time as I was diagnosed with low thyroid.
Your niece is such a little cutie, how could anyone not appreciate that little sweetheart 'informing' you of something.

I understand that treatment of low thyroid is, I guess satisfactory, but I can’t help thinking there is something that could help more than it does. I don’t know that my low thyroid medication ever made me feel better.
Also, I don’t know if I have told you, but I am so glad you quit smoking,

@AmbiePam Oh thank you.
It will be 23 years on Labour Day weekend that I quit.
Believe it or not, I actually had a nic fit craving just a little over a week ago, it was a strong one too.
I am glad that I kicked that habit.
My thyroid meds do not make me feel any better.

Your niece sounds like such a character—“I don’t tattle, I inform” is such a witty line for a six-year-old! Kids really do seem to have an endless well of energy, don’t they? It’s the kind of spark that makes us adults both laugh and wish we could borrow just a little of it.
As for fading energy, I think it happens differently for everyone—sometimes slowly over the years, sometimes more noticeably when health issues creep in. What’s important is that you’re aware of it now and making the effort to regain some of that spark. Even small steps, like better sleep, gentle exercise, and little joys in your day, can help bring some of that energy back.

My energy level declined in my adult years for a few decades, but in the past decade it has returned.

Mine has come and gone for about three or four years now. Sometimes better than others. I substituted in my old class this morning and it really felt good. By the time I finished driving out of town and sitting in a four hour training and driving back I was pretty tired.

I guess when I got old and fat, but I was always one that had a lot of energy for things I liked, and others not so much. It's still a bit like that today.

I still have plenty but kids make me wish for the youthful kind that can go until they pass out

I think mine started around the time I retired. But suddenly we had a premie grandbaby to help raise.
So along with the greatest blessing came prayers for energy! But I wouldn't haven't given up that experience for anything. Some of our most blessed times with Nathan.

My energy started to fade around 60 years of age due to my legs getting sore from falls in stores.

When I was in my 50s. I remember wrestling recliners, a mattress, etc. out to the dumpster when my hubby had his ankle surgery. After that my energy went downhill.

I was very energetic but my energy was channeled by my elders to learn to live as an adult. I didn’t see it then but I know that now. At my age now, I would have to say I am more of a positive mindset of, just get it done, girl!
