It happened again

I was putting soap on a bowl when I noticed a wasp sitting on the skillet that was inside the sink. At first I thought I was hallucinating but after taking a second look at the skillet I realized it was indeed a wasp. I freaked out (as wasps terrify me), put the bowl on the counter, and fled the kitchen. Hysterical, I called my mom and told her about the wasp. She ended up driving to my house. At first she didn’t see it in the sink but when she lifted the skillet it was there. It somehow got onto her hand but she pushed it away. She then started pouring lots of water on it until it went down the drain and didn’t return. From what she told me before she is also afraid of them but at least she is able to get rid of them. I can’t do that. That is terrible because she won’t always be there to come to my rescue. I can’t just hide from a wasp if it’s in the house. I have to be able to kill it and go about my day. I don’t get how it got into the sink. It wasn’t in the kitchen when I was making breakfast. Nor did I see it when I was rinsing dishes.

That was indeed a difficult situation for you to handle Good your Mom came to your rescue . I know she will not be there always to help you All you can do is to wish you never ever see a wasp again

I do wish to never see one again in my house but I know it will be too good to be true to never see one ever again.

Buy some wasp spray. If you see another one, blast the daylights out of it. It will make you feel better. You need to try to figure out how they get into your house. There has to be an entry spot somewhere that no one has discovered yet.

This summer there was one in the kitchen I think in April or maybe it was beginning of May and that’s it. Not one appeared until today.

@MarieCoyle yep. Last year there were many. This year thankfully this was only the second one.

@lovebuglena Didn't you have some wasps get in the house last year? Or am I remembering wrong? Anyway, I hope you don't have anymore.

I am sorry Lena I know you are terrified of those creatures. I wish there were a way you could not be so scared but first of all to actually get rid of them.

@lovebuglena Yes would a pest service be able to see their entry point?

@RebeccasFarm I have no idea. Maybe the windows are not that good anymore. They are since the 90s I think.

I don’t get how they get in. I don’t want them to get into my house. I doubt they get in thru front door and fly to second floor. They must be getting in through the window somehow. But it’s closed and screen is new so I don’t get it.

Goodness. You would be extra stressed as it's now the second one that has somehow got into the house. I guess you've checked for any open windows.

All windows are closed and all screens have been replaced. How it got there have no idea. It wasn’t there when I first got into the kitchen and made food.

I'm the same way when it comes to wasps. I just don't like them, and if I know they are in the house, like you, they MUST go. Usually, I go and grab my electric flyswatter and electrocute them.

That’s probably a good idea to use an electric fly swatter. If only I could get myself to try and kill the suckers in any way. I just can’t get myself to approach them and try.

@lovebuglena The only nice thing about them is they're not like flies. They're not as quick to know you're coming for them. I use great caution approaching them, though. lol

@lovebuglena No. The mesh is really tight, so they can't fly through it, and normally, when you hit them right and keep the button pressed down, they stick to it getting zapped the whole time. They do not survive this experience. lol

I feel the same way about spiders. Glad your mom was available to come to your aid. It is amazing how insects and such can into places.

Pretty runs screaming if a wasp or spider gets in the house and wants me to kill them. The weird part is that Pretty isn't scared of spiders outside, just inside the house. She runs from wasps/bees inside or outside the house. I'm glad your mom got there and got rid of the wasp for you.

@lovebuglena Inside she won't kill them, she just screams for me to kill them. Outside, she'll move spiders building webs in our path to the car to another part of the yard on a piece of paper. But we're both allergic to wasp/bee stings.

@DaddyEvil Being elergic to them is not good. I don’t think I am but I still don’t want them to do it. I’d never be able to move a spider. Maybe kill it but it would probably depend on what spider it is.

Me too. But I have to figure out how to be able to get myself to try and kill it myself. Otherwise it’s gonna ruin my life even more.

@LindaOHio I’d never be able to spray anything. Besides probably not a good idea to spray chemical stuff like that inside kitchen.
