Sometimes, I just have to shake my head and move on.

OK, I am not a snob. I don't put people down for selling used items, I have purchased many used things before. There are some things I won't buy used, and items like this in this condition and level of filth is beyond me.
I had to run an errand earlier. A neighbor lady asked me if I would drop her off at her sister's home on the way, and of course I said yes--it really was pretty much on my way. Her sister has a very nice home in what I would have to call an upscale area, the houses there are very nice and of course, very expensive as well. Off we went.
The neighbor close by her sister is having a yard sale. I love yard sales, and with son not being well I rarely get to go to them. I like to just look.
BUT....this chair was by the neighbor's driveway as I drove by. I assumed it was destined for the trash. But NO, it has a $20 price tag on it. I know that I am not a perfect housekeeper, but who on earth would pay any amount of money at all for something this filthy?? Am I being snobbish?
Obviously, after seeing that, I did not stop at the yard sale!!

They could have cleaned it first before listing it for sale. No one wants a filfthy chair, probably not even for free.

It’s just a complete turn-off. Who would stop at the yard sale if that’s the first thing you see? Not me!

It’s just so grubby. I wouldn’t even want it if it was cleaned up, just yucky.

I just don't want to know...I can't imagine letting something get that grubby and then trying to sell it.

@MarieCoyle I wish more people would share rides. I have asked more than once to carpool with someone when I spotted a super walk or other attraction but nobody answers me. We finally paid a lot of money to get our ride to see my sister in the far north west of my state.

I fear it will get worse, that people will not help others with little things like a ride to a store, or to do a small favor when it's needed...I know times are hard but it really costs nothing to be kind.

She is a nice neighbor. Her car is in the shop, I was happy to be able to give her the short ride to her sisters house.

I think I would, too. Either that or have a bonfire and toss it in there!

That kind of fabric shows dirt so badly, and I hesitate to buy used soft goods due to bed bugs. I would have sent it to the trash. I have sent better to the trash in my time.

I think of bedbugs, too. I’ve never had them and I don’t ever want them, either!

Um….NO.
If the arms look like that, there’s no telling what smells and things are in the upholstery. Good thing to pass by!

A huge turn off, who would go to that yard sale after seeing that chair? Not me!

I would have thought to expect it to be clean even if it was free. No one wants things this dirty.

Sometimes the things we buy from yard sales are not matching the price tag hence it's nice you trusted your instinct.

It does not look that good in the picture. The person should have tried to clean the chair.

Perhaps she was like my friend who put out a small cupboard with a big 'FREE' sign on it. When it didn't get picked up she replaced 'FREE' with '$5' and it immediately got stolen! lol

Eww. No thank you. I don't like to buy anything upholstered used.
