The Fly - 1986
This movie is a remake of the 1958 film of the same name I recommend seeing both as the 1986 film was considered one of the greatest ever remakes. It won an Oscar for Best Makeup.
A scientist, Seth Brundle, (Jeff Goldblum), turns into a part-fly after a failed experiment. Seth's transformation into the fly hybrid is quite graphic and shocking... a Halloween classic for sure!!! Geena Davis played Goldblum's girlfriend both in the movie and, at that time, in real life!

That movie always gave me the creeps. I forgot what happened at the end, but I suppose he remained a fly.

The remake is much better imo. Jeff Goldblum is great in the title role. I haven’t seen it in years but would definitely watch it again.

I remember being on a trip with my best friend in 1996, and we had our hotel room. We started watching “The Fly” (Goldblum’s version) on cable, and boy did it freak us out!
I love scary movies, but not pure gore, like Saw. That’s not for me.

I’m not into movies like that but I’ve seen clips of both. The makeup in the remake was truly amazing.

I love the old sci-fi and horror movies....the cheesier the better. They're great entertainment.

@LindaOHio Oh. No. Don't get me wrong. I was ALWAYS a sucker for what they called "B flicks." Sci-fi, horror, some of those were the absolute best. When you can mix cheesy, creepy and funny all in one hour and a half long reel...
That's GENIUS!
I mean, the closest newest thing we ever got was Stephen King's "Creepshow" movies. Man...those were AWESOME.
"Thanks for the ride, lady."

The technology, of course, is very different; but they are both good.
