Yesterday (Sunday) was such a good day. I felt fantastic! I took Sadie (my dog) over to my dad’s while he was at church (I was not there for reasons I won’t go into (non nefarious, lol) ), and let her enjoy the sun in my dad’s backyard. Even in October, the garden is still beautiful. While the morning was cool, it got up to 85 degrees outside (29 C) by the end of the day. My sister and brother-in-law made it to the Disney resort in Hawaii okay, and I know she had been nervous about the flights being canceled like they had been for our cruise. Thankfully, they weren’t. She desperately needs a break. Being a mom of three kids when one child is special needs is hard work. All moms are amazing, but when you have a special needs child (Hudson), you are exhausted. How was your weekend?

@ambiepam Mine was mercifully gentle after a quite boisterous storm. I didn’t get to Church either, also for non-nefarious reasons.

He’s in IT. He’s getting ready to quit this job and join Fanatics, probably. I just marvel that they can do all they do, and have no debt, plus they give. What’s funny to me is all the kids are excited to stay with the lady who is keeping them. She’s specially trained to take care of kids like Hudson, and has an arcade in her house, plus a sensory room for autistic children. So they couldn’t care less they aren’t in Hawaii, they get an arcade to play in. Lol

@AmbiePam Sounds good. What is Fanatics! UT seems to me that they could take some of that money and get out set up in your own tiny house or simething.

@snowy22315 Tiny houses are really expensive, and then there is land, utilities, and SSI would count that all as income. I’d lose my medical insurance, and they can’t afford to pay for my health problems. Fortunately, my huge family all pay taxes so they more than cover that. But I’ll be honest, snowy. Although I’m not their responsibility, there have been times I wondered why they didn’t help me. Disneyland is a wonderful gift though. Fanatics is a national sports store chain. They sell sports merchandise. I wonder how much the employee discount is.

You are so right, the sister of my father had two children, both boys, one was a special needs boy, she had not an easy life. I am glad you enjoyed your day. We had a beautiful sunny day.

@AmbiePam - She did not enjoy a lot of life, her son could not walk, he could not move from his bed, she had to feed him as you do a toddler. I cannot believe he lived to reach the age of 65.

Yes, and the kids were so excited. There’s this place called Will’s House, and it was founded in honor of this lady’s late adopted special needs son. They have an arcade, a sensory room (for autistic children), and an arts and crafts room. This lady also has three other adopted children, one who is in a wheelchair, and Annelyn calls him her twin (they are both 6 and biracial). So this lady can take care of a child like Hudson very well. You might as well have told my nieces and nephew they were going to Disney they were so excited to go to Will’s House.

My weekend was ok. My mother had been bugging me about getting blinds for the sun room and getting stuff to fix under the kitchen sink. So we got that on Sunday and I got also my pills on Sunday. Saturday I got some stuff I had ordered online.

I'm glad you had a good day and that your sister and BIL made it to Disney. My weekend was very quiet. I did get a call from my husband's cousin/Godchild. We talked for about 2 hours.

My weekend was pretty good. Yesterday we had lunch at church, and then washed some clothes and Bob picked up some things at the store while I got my flu shot and covid shot. I slept really well.

Oh, their yard is lovely. I would enjoy spending time out there, too. It's nice that you can go over and enjoy it. Yes, a special needs child can drain a person. And it can happen to any family. I hope she has a nice break with her husband and enjoys herself!
