It's Monday and Everything Is Status Quo

Happy Monday Everyone! another beautiful day here in my little corner of the myLot world. Aside from it getting chilly overnight, the days have been really nice. Looks like we might be getting rain by tomorrow so my "big" plans for today is to sit outside and soak up the sun.
But, before I can relax, the normal every day chores need to get done. I'm back to seriously thinking of getting a housekeeper. It would be so nice to have someone else do all the work (especially the bathrooms).
If not today, then tomorrow I'm going to back some apples. Got a nice bag with our groceries this weekend and although baking an apple pie or apple crisp would be delicious I'm seriously trying to not to have too many sweets in the house. So, baking apples is a good alternative I think.
I finally got my results back from my doctor and my fasting blood sugar is still high. Not as high as last time but it really hasn't come down by much. My A1C is within normal range but my fasting blood sugar is high. Certainly perplexing.
So, my doctor said to keep doing what I'm doing and we'll do another blood test in 6 months. I'm determined to see a big difference.
That's all that's going on here.
How's your day going?

Shouldn't be too hard if I stick with "real" food and stay away from processed stuff

I honestly think that's a problem many people never realize--the amount of sugar, etc. in processed foods. The manufacturers load foods up with chemicals and junk, and people don't think about it--they just eat it and never read ingredients. Keep on trying like you are, I imagine you will get the sugar level down soon!

@MarieCoyle agreed! Processed food is filled with all sorts of stuff and im trying to eat as much real food as I can. My doctor gave me some good suggestions but im very glad that my A1C is normal so I don't have pre-diabetes or diabetes. He also thinks my fasting blood sugar could be due to my sleep which isn't that good. I might have to do a sleep study test at some point.

Can't someone else do it for a change? I'm sorry to hear your blood sugar is still high but, it sounds like it is down a bit since last time. That's a good sign. Good luck in 6 months.

The apples were a good choice and the house smells wonderful. Tomorrow I'll have one for breakfast with some ricotta cheese or maybe some sliced cheddar cheese.
I'm not battling diabetes but my fasting blood sugar comes back high. Its really a mystery but yhe doctor gave me some suggestions in addition to getting good sleep
How are you and your son doing?

@Marilynda1225 We didn't even know it until he had his cataract surgery earlier this year. Both times his sugar was high for fasting.

@wolfgirl569 maybe it's more common than I thought. Does he have to do any follow up to see if its gone down?

I went to the doctor yesterday. My blood pressure was a little high. I got the flu shot and the HPV shot. I also worked on my best friend's diamond painting.

Hope you blood pressure goes down and it was just a fluke thst it was a little high at the doctors.
Diamond painting is so pretty when it's done but looks like it's very intricate work.

@JESSY3236 " I think they call that "white coat syndrome" when your BP is only high at the doctors.. Pretty common I think as many of us get nervous when we're there.
What kind of diamond painting are you doing?

@Marilynda1225 For some reason, it's high at the doctor's office, but at home it's good. Yeah this diamond painting is tedious.

I am reading labels and making smarter choices. Its funny how I/we don't pay much attention to sugar in ketchup, salad dressing, etc.

Sorry, about your blood sugar. I think you don't get enough exercise. What can you do about that? If you can afford it I think having a housekeeper at least weekly would be great! I have had a couple over the years, worth their weight in gold.

I don't know if I would need a housekeeper once a week but maybe every few weeks would help. I can do most of it but can't do as much as I used to. Getting old certainly makes it harder to bend these days

You're lucky you have maids to help out. I've never had one but it is appealing. The older I get the harder it is now to do all that work.
My apples made the house smell delicious!

I'm going to work hard at getting it lower but it's so confusing that's it's only my fasting blood sugar and not my A1C.

I try very hard to watch my carbs and have tried to switch mostly to complex carbs rather than anything sugary and loaded with calories. It's definitely a learning curve to figure out what's healthy for real and not what just looks healthy and isn't.

I'm sorry about your blood sugar. I'm hoping that my A1C comes down with the dietary changes I've made because of my kidney disease. Definitely get a housekeeper. You will love it...and you deserve it. My day is going OK. Tomorrow morning I have a CT scan of my kidneys.
