This was my lunch yesterday, or at least part of it. Hearts of palm, beets, and Mandarin oranges (which I had gotten away from for some reason). All on a bed of tuna, and smothered with Marie's blue cheese dressing. Do you sometimes make salads? It's getting a bit cool here for salads, but I'll keep on making them.

I love Maries Blue Cheese dressing and it's my "go to" for salads. I eat salad at least once a week. I especially like blue cheese dressing on baked potato (yum)

Is this a combo that is normally well received? It sounds unpleasant, but I can’t tell if that is because I’m nauseated or if that really is an unusual combo. I don’t want to yuck someone else’s yum.

It was delicious, even if I forgot to add some tomatoes and olives. I hope your tummy feels better soon.

I haven't made a salad in years. I used to. I made a fruit salad once and used half a carved-out pineapple for the dish. I used plain yogurt and every fruit I could find. It was so good, and my guests enjoyed it.

@TheHorse A colorful plate is cheerful and reminds me that I am eating food which will nourish me.

"They" say color contrasts are good. I forgot to add one of the Roma tomatoes from my "garden." And canned olives.

I don't think I've ever had hearts of palm. I must try them one day.

@JudyEv Hearts of palm are not crunchy they are usually soft, sometimes a bit too fibrous on the outside. Not my favourite thing.

@LadyDuck We never cook with water chestnuts either but I love their crunchy taste. They turn up in Chinese dishes sometimes.

I do from time to time. Last time I bought beets I got some that are like shoestring potatoes. I think they will go well in a salad. Have you ever tried putting pepperoni slices in a spinach salad--yum.

I LOVE salads with a broccoli base instead of iceberg lettuce. I wish someone would make one for me with LOTS of added stuff and ranch dressing or vinaigrette.
