My Sister Scared Me

Really early this morning, my sister called me (I was awake), and a sick feeling hit my stomach. My first thought was something happened to my dad (I live closer, but they’ll call her first if anything happens), but she was just booking excursions for the cruise next October, and wanted to find out if I wanted for sure to go to an Anne of Green Gables excursion (you can start booking exactly one year away). The one she wanted to go on was booked, so she was double checking I wanted to go, since there was only room for five people for the Anne of Green Gables excursion she DID find.
If you recall, our cruise in September had the flights canceled so we didn’t get to go. Primarily disappointed was my sister, who always wanted to visit Prince Edward Island due to her love of the books and movies of Anne of Green Gables. She was really upset about that. Hopefully, she’ll get this one booked. I’d hate to see her disappointed again.
When is the last time an early morning phone call scared you?

I'm glad everything was okay... I haven't gotten an early morning phone call in decades. My family know to text me and I'll answer if I'm awake.

@AmbiePam You can always send a text and I'd get back to you when I'm awake.

Best of luck to her getting you booked for that cruise. It is not morning calls but late night calls that have upset me. When I lived in NYC some idots were doing random phone calls to wake people up and scare them somehow, One night the phone rings and I reach over my mom sleeping in the next pull out we had two beds from a coauch. She was still asleep and I picked up the phone a stange voide said I am going to kill your mother, Even if you know about the pranks that is all you need at about 1 or 2 AM.

My granny had been sick for sometime and I was used to calls at anytime. She got better and the calls stopped. What scared me the most is when she called me at 3AM. Have never been shaken like that. Only for me to call back and she is like sorry I slept on my phone

Five months back my uncle was seriously ill. I remember, one early morning my phone rang, and I was badly scared. With a trembling hand I picked my phone and held my breath. I was expecting a bad news, but it was my aunt on the other end informing me that uncle was recovering and would be relieved the next day.

MY stomach would drop too if I got an early morning call. Glad everything was okay with your sister and hope she was able to book her excursion for Anne of Green Gables. I know that bookings can be a year in advance from my kids booking stuff when they plan their cruises.

Great news about the trip.
The last early morning all was a few weeks ago from The Mister ….by mistake , which was lucky as I slept right through it.

When son had that really long hospital stay back in June, I would stay as late as needed and then go home to sleep, or to my daughter's. One night, getting home about midnight, the phone rang at 4AM. It was the hospital telling me that my son's ultrasounds were bumped up earlier in the day. I told them, those were done yesterday. And she looked, and they were. She didn't read the chart like she should of. But I forgave her, those nurses work so hard, and it was a simple mistake. But oh, that 4AM feeling! Ugh.

I think any early morning phone calls would scare me. I worry about something happening to my parents too

I turn off my phone overnight, but whenever the mother-in-law calls us I think something is wrong.
