Keeping Myself Out of Trouble

Happy Wednesday Everyone! another sunny day temperatures are chilly so I have on long sleeves and I know it's just a matter of time before I have to switch to sweaters. Yesterday I got myself involved in a project that I had no intention of doing. I have a container of skeins of yarn that I keep for small projects since the skeins have already been used. Most of them have just been thrown into the container and it's pretty messy. So, one by one I took them out and rolled each of them into a ball. Not fun but at least now they're all neat and the container is organized and I can immediately see what I have. While rolling all these into balls I caught up on some tv shows and the afternoon flew by. Now I just need to figure out a new crocheting project Tonight I'm making one of my favorite dinners....breaded and air fried eggplant cutlets and whole wheat thin spaghetti. Yum!!! But, before I get sidetracked and the day disappears, I'm going to enjoy my coffee and chat here for awhile.

That sounds like an absolutely delicious dinner. It makes me want to drive up there and eat with you! Nothing much going on here today. I decided to come over to my dad’s to see if I’d feel better, and I think I do. He had to leave, but Sadie and I are sticking around.

I remember when you were making all those beanies. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what to make. I got involved in a charity group that makes granny squares (crochet), they collect the squares and volunteers stitch blankets together for patients going through chemo. It gives me something to do with my time and I feel like I'm contributing to a worthy cause. In fact, I have a whole bunch of squares ready to send them.

@Marilynda1225 That's a good idea. I was making beanies for prem babies but they're inundated at the moment apparently.

I love breaded eggplants cutlets, they are better than meat cutlets. I used to help Mom rolling skeins of yarn into balls.

@Marilynda1225 - I also make often eggplant cutlets. I do not roll skeins of yarn into balls anymore, but I remember it was tedious.

I make eggplant cutlets probably about every other week and do love them instead of meat. Rolling those skeins of yarn into balls has been tedious but I'm almost done. My poor arm can only take so much rolling in one day

I hope you enjoy your dinner tonight. I stopped crocheting when I started playing on myLot. It's difficult to crochet when you're typing all the time. Two weeks ago Pretty asked me if I still had yarn and crochet needles. I had 1/3 of a blanket finished in a bag with several skeins more yarn for that project and another bag full of partial skeins... I gave her all of it and she's working on something. She won't say what and hasn't shown her work to me. (I taught her how to crochet when she was a teenager.) She said she's found instructions for things she wants to make online. I assume if she has a problem she'll ask for help.

@Marilynda1225 I never catch her crocheting. I'm wondering if she's already given up on the idea. Mom taught me when I was around 10 years old. Instead of giving kids hyperactivity meds back then, the doctors told parents to give kids things to do with their hands. I used to crochet while reading or watching television... or, sometimes while I was reading and watching television. (I had to do that from the kitchen table, though. Dad HATED seeing me doing anything else if I was also watching television. He used to yell at me that I could only do one thing at a time. Mom told me to ignore him but stay out of his sight doing more than one thing at the same time. Mom crocheted and watched television at the same time, too, but dad never said anything to her about it.)

Should be interesting to see what Pretty is making when she finally shows you her finished project. Shes lucky you taught her how to crochet. I learned from my childhood best friends grandmother.

I wear sweaters most days, except on really hot and humid summer days. In fact, I'm wearing one now, over my nightie. It's sunny here too, but only 10°C.

I usually wear sweaters (pullovers mostly) during the really cold months. I'm almost sorry I didn't put one on today

You know what? I don't think I have ever had eggplant cutlets. I have had some I guess as part of a chicken parm, but just by themselves, I don't think so. I know I didn't make them. Maybe that will be my next culinary adventure, although something like chicken parm sounds better.

Eggplant cutlets are made the same way as chcken cutlets except I air fry them instead of deep frying. I do love eggplant parm and chicken parm. Both are yummy

My aunt made the best eggplant ever, and always served it with linguine noodles and a parmesan sauce she made. So, so good. It's one recipe she didn't disclose, I make it sometimes but I don't think mine is as good as hers was. She put so much love and effort in it, and we had that in the summers when I grew eggplant, mostly for her and her love of it.
