Who are some of your favorite all-time musicians?

I have to head to Guitar Center, so I'll be brief. At Guitar Center, several of the guitar instructors love Metallica. I am not a Metallica fan, but I can teach their riffs on guitar or bass. It's kind of fun being a "senior citizen" pretending to be an adolescent head banger. Here are some of my favorite musicians. Who are some of yours? Miles Davis/Bill Evans Tom Petty John Prine Jesse Winchester The Allman Brothers Band The Grateful Dead J.S. Bach Keith Jarrett Gordon Lightfoot Townes Van Zandt Richard Thompson Koko Taylor Dang! The list keeps growing!

I got a hug from a kid I had not seen in two months. I'll probably write about it.

I enjoy many you mentioned but also John Hiatt, Leonard Cohen, John Denver, Jim Croce, Janis Joplin, and there is another I really enjoy but can't recall his name. He had weird song titles and had a very distinctive voice.

I love Emmylou! Maybe I'll add her to my list after work. I like Enya too. Pete Seeger helped set the stage for folkies like John Prine and Jesse Winchester.

@noni1959 The '70s were kind of a "Golden Era" for rock 'n Roll music. Especially the early '70s for me.

Totally different from yours: Elton John, the Bee Gees, Beatles, Seals and Croft, the Mamas and the Papas, the Carpenters...there are a lot more; but these are the ones that pop into my head. I also love The Four Seasons by Vivaldi.

I just don’t think I’m qualified enough to call someone great. My first thought was Tom Petty and Jimmy Page, but I feel my analysis would pretty much be inept.
