People Change

Some days I read what people have to say, and my heart gets heavy. The lack of empathy, the judgment, the snobbery, and the disdain hurt my heart. But no one HAS to be like that. They choose to cling to those feelings.
People can change. I’ve done it, and I’ve seen it in people within my family. I know there are some here getting discouraged by it. Some don’t care at all, or don’t see it that way. That’s okay too. Just don’t give up on important things, like this place. It’s worth sticking around.

I have read things that not only make my heart heavy, but I fear for their souls. I am grateful for this place and for the wonderful Mylotters here.

Just don't understand it life is tough enough. I have only myself to talk to and now and then I remind myself that there are people out there who have things even tougher than I do and I sure pray for those people,

I have to agree that this is happening, and it shouldn’t be. It does hurt my heart. We need to be a welcoming community here. I realize that of course not all posts are going to be cheerful and wonderful. But the negativity and undercutting of certain groups of people are not a good thing.

I used to be a lot different years ago as a teen and young adult. It took moving out of my parents home, someone pointing out how I never had anything nice to say, having children to set an example for and my first husband dying to change me.

I see so many gaslighting, arguing, name calling, and feeling they are better than others. It is disheartening. We all change and evolve but some just like to stay mean. I like here too. There are so many great people to talk to here and I learn some interesting things too.

I'd like to think that people can change. I know that I (finally!) matured as I grew up, although I'm still a work in progress. But while empathy can be taught to a child, I don't know how to explain to an adult that they should care about other people. It seems like a lost cause, but I'm still fighting.

I think some people speak before they think....maybe taking time to think , do I need to say this,....do I need to say it like this , ....is what I'm saying kind ?

Your word touches me deeply in my heart. l am very determined to stay around but circumstances force me to stay away at times. l really understand what you are saying my friend.
