Pork tenderloin roast

I got this small roast at the Meridian Market. It is a small grocery that also sells "distressed" groceries, or repacks from bulk to smaller packages. It is a place I always save money. I paid less than $5 for the marinated roast. I cooked it up tonight with potatoes, carrots, celery, sweet peppers, onions and mushrooms. I made gravy with the juices. We will be able to have two more meals from the meat and veggies. I will likely add other sides, like kraut, a salad, or baked beans to keep it interesting. It was an easy meal to make and Bob really enjoyed it tonight. Dessert was peach praline pie. I am stuffed.

I always buy my herbs and spices there, because they buy in bulk and repackage. It is an offshoot of an Amish community and they have lots of baking supplies as well.

It sounds absolutely delicious! My dad just went to one of those kinds of stores and bought a whole bunch of stuff. He gave half away to a couple, and they were so greatful they gave him some fish they had just caught. I told Diana to invite me over when they cooked that fish!

I get try try new and different things when shopping there, and I save money. Bartering and sharing is what it is going to take to get us through this tough time. Your dad is good at it.

I love pork. I wish we had a grocery in our area that sold distressed groceries. I see there is a website where you can buy them. Sounds like quite a nice meal and several more to come.

I have never tried any of the online options. I have thought about it a lot, though.

We often buy a roast. If you work out the cost per serve, it can be very economical.

Describing the savings, I thought of you. The pie was even half priced at Dillons. (Kroger).

@GardenGerty Seems any time someone thinks of money around here, my name comes up. I wonder why that is? As for Kroger, I own stock in the company, so it is doubly good to hear you went there and spent some money. lol
