Hollow happyween! Or something like that. I’m done with the mammogram (ouch) and semi-annual check-up. It’s on to the end of this countdown. I big shout-out to @rebelann who inspired this one after inspiring last month’s…oh, and she also inspired next month’s list of instrumentals, too! Thanks for the inspiration, and let that be a warning: anything you say to a preacher, a cop, or me can be used against you! Rock out to this one. #1: Walk of Life - Dire Straits As I said, any of the top five could switch places with one another. At this particular moment, this one lands on top. See me in a week and it might be Boz or Chicago. You’ve seen this one before a time or 80 on my lists. It’s on my 100 favorites list. It’s one that my mother loved. It’s one of Dire Straits’ most popular songs. And it’s a killer song to exercise to. Run, walk, skate, or dance. I’ve done it all to this one. Not to mention driven over the speed limit. Thanks for reading. Walk of Life Written by Mark Knopfler Recorded by Dire Straits From Brothers in Arms, 1985 Oh yeah, the boy can play:

WOOOOHOOOO, love this one, couldn't keep my feet still to this one and Roscoe just looks at me ..... I think he's got the idea his hooomin is nuts Thanks again for the shout out, hopefully I can think of other things to give you new ideas but beware, most of what I truly like is from the late 60s to the very early 70s. Butttt, if it were my dad he'd want to know if you've ever done anything by Johnny Horton, even I liked that dude.

Thats so sad, for your dad as well. I read a little about him when you told me about his demise, apparently he'd recorded several albums before he hit it big. Now I'm totally curious about him.

Hmmm, I didn't know that about him. Bummer he didn't have more time to share his gift.

@rebelann — yeah, he was killed by a drunk driver less than a year after winning the Grammy for “The Battle of New Orleans.” On my dad’s 30th birthday.

Happy Halloween! I'm glad the torture session and check-up are done now... Pretty hates getting mammograms, too. (At least I didn't tell her it's for her own good like she does to me when I have painful tests done.)

@FourWalls That's interesting, stage 0 means there isn't any cancer. Hopefully we are all at stage 0.

As long as the mammogram is clear I can have one every two years now instead of annually. Glad you remember the song!

Dire Straits. Man, Mark Knopfler. What a madman on guitar. Too often overlooked when we think of the greats. What a band. What an era. Good stuff. Brian Stetzer is another wildly overlooked guitarist that comes to mind.

I think Lindsey Buckingham is overlooked a lot when they talk about “greats.” I mean, when he left FM they had to replace him with TWO guitarists!

@FourWalls Oh yes. Another excellent example. I mean, hell, take "Never Going Back Again." That is a super complicated piece with all sorts of moving parts and when you hear it you swear there's more than one guitar... But there's only one.

I’ll do it, but you won’t like it because all of the songs I came up with are country.

@FourWalls I"m just teasing. You don't have to do it. But if you do, can you include the Bugle Boy song?
