Octobers over maybe I’ll be less busy this month

I spent the past few months going to my son’s games. He plays base and electric guitar for the school band. I volunteered a few hours before each home game prepping the food beforehand. All the games are over for the year now. My son being a senior this year is very bittersweet. I’ve been doing lots of playdates since school started so that’s kept me pretty busy as well. The next one the girls will wear ballet outfits. I have a few fun plans to go with it and am excited. A few weeks ago my stepson who is in the marines was messing around with his friends and broke his collar bone. He just had surgery on Monday to fix it. I hate he’s so far away during this. My husband’s one beagle had a litter of puppies a week and a half ago. Such cute little things. The photo is of two of them. There were 7 but one died so we have 6. After months and months of dealing with well issues my husband and his friend were working on it today. After 13 hours it’s still not working so we have no water for the night. I have some important plans for tomorrow so hopefully things go okay tomorrow.

@Daddyevil while waiting on the plumber to come before my little one got home from school I got a few minutes to be here and to read a book. The rest of my week is going to be busy.

You can hope things calm down. Our month was a series of appoitments and dealing with medical insurance.

@kaylachan dealing with insurance issues is quite frustrating. I’m waiting on my daughters to return my call. They never sent her medical cards and we have asked twice now.

With kids, it's always busy busy busy, isn't it? Awww, the pups - their fur is already so gorgeous. Hope everything works out with the mending and fixes and all . . . may your November be less hectic (I hope that for me too!).

@much2say I find it hard to not keep busy. I feel like when I think of free time I just fill it with things instead of just relaxing

@shaggin Our schedules are often about all the family's needs. If only there were more hours in the day to get it all done (or at least give us more time to actually relax!).

@jstory07 no water since early Saturday morning. My husband has done all he could and has thrown in the towel. We are waiting for the plumber to come. He said he would be here this afternoon but hasn’t gotten here yet. He’s in very high demand around here.

@Lindaohio my stepson is healing well thankfully. I was worried how painful it was going to be but it’s not bothering him much. I’m thankful for that. The plumber is coming back tomorrow to pull all the lines up to see what the problem is. If he can’t fix it we will be switching to city water as soon as possible.

@LindaOHio it runs about $80 a month around here for the average person. Well water is free and tastes a lot better.

@shaggin I'm glad to hear about your stepson. Switching to city water will be good but maybe expensive.

It's good to see you here! Your family keeps you busy. You are a good mom. I am sorry that your stepson had to have surgery, it is hard when they are so far away.

@MarieCoyle if it was only a few hours drive we’d have gone but he is all the way on the other side of the country

@MarieCoyle we don’t have the new ids so we wouldn’t have even be able to get on base. His girlfriend took him to the hospital for the surgery thankfully.

@shaggin A few years ago my youngest had to have a big surgery, she is in Florida and I am in Texas. At the time I wasn't sure I could go, but we made it work. She had a 5 year old and a one year old, and we all pitched in...but she was so happy that I was there. I am sure you wanted to be there for him, sometimes it just isn't possible.

I think each month has its own kind of busyness. You have so many people to care for, I think you will always be busy.

@Gardengerty well it’s just four of us in my home now. It’s now been 4 days since we’ve had water. My husband has done all he could and we are now waiting for the plumber to come see if he can get the well working. If not we are switching over to city water. Thankfully where we live we have that option but it may not be able to be turned on very quickly. I’m hopeful the well can be fixed today..

It’s always so good to see you. You have definitely been busy, but then you are not one to sit around doing nothing. I hope you get your water back soon!

@AmbiePam that’s true I don’t like to just sit around and do nothing. I really need to get to the laundromat but I’m waiting for the plumber who said two hours ago he was coming. I’ve mopped, cleaned the mirrors and windows inside, vacuumed my car out. I have nothing left but to sit here so I’m going to alternate between reading, myLot and going through my emails.

Nice to see you! I guess you might have to get a specialist to deal with the well.

@snowy22315 my first husband and my father fixed it about 20 years ago. My husband and his friend were working on it yesterday. No where is open that had the part we need so after my daughter’s appointment tomorrow I am going to a plumbing contractor that should have the part. Crossing my fingers it won’t have to be ordered and will be there when I go.

@snowy22315 he can’t find anywhere with the part he needs without ordering it so he’s just buying a new pump. It’ll cost a lot more I’m sure but will be done today hopefully. I wouldn’t have minded waiting a few days to save money since our pump is pretty new but I left this decision up to him. His money and his time spent fixing the well.

@shaggin - I am glad he is doing well, usually physical therapy helps a lot, I am pretty sure he will be fine.

@wolfgirl569 tomorrow I am watching a friends two boys for a short time before school. She has to go to parent teacher conferences. Then I have to babysit my great nephew while his mother goes to a job interview. If she gets that job I will be even busier since I will have a two year old here daily. At least I don’t have as many things on the calendar at the moment.

@wolfgirl569 they sure are. My daughter hasn’t been very fond lately of my friends son that she goes to school with so I worry how tomorrow will go. I wanted to do fun things like make slime to keep them busy but without water to clean our hands either after I can’t

@RasmaSandra they are cute. The little stinkers are getting themselves out of their heated box. That makes me nervous as it’s going to start getting very cold soon. They wouldn’t survive long out in the cold. .

Sounds like life has been busy for you. The kids really have gotten big and it's hard to believe your son is a senior this year. Hope the issue with the well gets resolved as it must be hard to be without water.

@Marilynda1225 being busy I enjoy but just when it’s fun things. It’s been mostly fun but some hectic times as well. No plumber still. It’ll be a week tomororw without water. My husband is going to try again tomorrow to fix it if the plumber doesn’t come today. Which I doubt he will.
