So who's ready for snow?

I was just looking at the snow potential for our area with the cold weather that is coming in starting Sunday night. I wouldn't mind a few flurries here at all, but it looks like we will be getting rain here, with the possibility of a bit of mixed precip. areas to the South and West will probably have snow. If it snows though I will probably be able to tell. I can smell snow. There is a distinct feel and scent when it is to snow. Bring on the flurries I say. when it is cold, I feel ripped off it doesn't snow. I know I am in the minority though...most are not into snow..no matter how pretty it is.

Nothing to be afraid of, especially if you don't have to drive in it...or shovel it.

I am not usually afraid to drive in it either as long as the roads have been plowed and treated.

@snowy22315 - But sometimes it snows so hard that the time they come to plow you are stuck in the snow. It happened to us several years ago, 7 hours on a highway, plenty of cars stuck in the snow and we all had winter tires.

@snowy22315 - We also had to go to the bathroom in the snow, we had no other choice. I could see in a car not far from us a young woman with a little baby and I was so sorry for her. We were lucky it was not 20 hours, but 7 hours was long enough to remember for the rest of our life.

As much as I like seeing snow, I do not look forward to having too much snow since the city services will be closed due to snow on the roads,

@snowy22315 I am a prisoner in my home when the sidewalks are filled with snow.

They changed the forecast to 3-5" from 5-10". If it doesn't s**w at all, I will be happy. Will send some your way.

@snowy22315 They've downgraded it again to 2". I have to go out on Thursday. It will be 48 by then; and I'm sure it will all be melted.

I'm never ready for snow. Your right, there is a certain feeling in the air when snow is on the way.

I bought a snowblower a few years ago, and haven't had enough snow here to use it yet, well not quite true. I could have last year, but it wasn't starting.

@snowy22315 Not having to use a snowblower is a good thing. Like accident insurance.
Hopefully, you won't have to use it much this season.

Sunday and Monday nights the low is like 20 degrees...and there are pictures of snowflakes shown on the weather page. We should just get a light snow or flurries. I am one of those people who like snow. What I dread is ice storms, they do so much damage and it's so hard to get around on ice.

I know.. ice storms equal power outages, and tough driving. I got locked out of my house once in an ice storm, and I had my dog with me
We met friend about a half hour from here. He had a spare key

Maybe you can hide a key somewhere? I haven't done that here, but I did where I used to live.

@MarieCoyle I ,can get unto the house now as one of the windows looks secure from the iutside, but the truth is it can be opened if you know what to do. Very little crime here I don't worry about it.

I've been waiting for it to snow here all my life
. I don't know the snow smell, but I imagine it's like knowing that feel when rain is coming. How cold it is there now? We are in the low 90s right now (far from snow), but supposedly it's going to be in the 70s by mid-week.

Valley I live in is too far down to get snow, it's rain by the time it gets down here. Some years ago we had a freak snow down here--there was about 1/4 to 1/2 and inch on everyone's lawn.

Do you think that it might finally snow in Florida? They say our temps will go to 38 by Monday,

There is something cozy and intimate about a snow storm..especially the next day when it is so quiet and beautiful. I love it.

It's nice. If we get snow, or ice most often happens in Jan or Feb here. They were mentioning on the news there was once a Veterans Day snow storm here though.

No thank you.
I love to see it, all freshly fallen, but I’m not so keen about going out in it these days.

It doesn't bother me much as long as the roads have been treated, but I grew up in snow country.
