I have been on a hard boiled egg kick over the past week or two. I was able to score a dozen eggs for only $4.99 or $5.99. I forget which. I have been boiling a couple up at a time and putting them in the fridge. I can grab one any time I need a quick snack. I just sprinkle on some salt and pepper. How long do hard boiled eggs keep in the fridge? Do you like hard boiled eggs?

We eat them often! But I won't make any more than a couple days worth - we are snobs and prefer them freshly warmish . The cooking water goes to the plants, so I don't mind.

I should put the cooking water on my plants. I just planted some snow peas today.

About a week. I only like hard boiled eggs as deviled eggs or egg salad.

I'll keep a hard boiled egg in the fridge for a few weeks and then toss it in the compost for whatever lucky critter finds it. I'm not too fond of cold, hard boiled eggs.

I even have an egg boiler, Just put eggs in a bit of water and when the hard boiled eggs are done the machine sounds an alarm, I love boiled eggs plain, deviled, and in salads, I do not keep mine in the fridge longer than a week.

A week. That seems to be the consensus.

I was keen to know the answer to this so I've read all the comments and the general consensus seems to be about a week. I can relax now. I've learnt my new thing for the day.

I wouldn't leave them very long. I like mine hot and right off the stove. I run them under just enough room temp water to get the outside off.

@TheHorse .......I don't like them if they have been in the fridge. I usually make deviled eggs out of any I have left over.

Yep. Running them under cold water makes the shells come off easier.

I don't keep it for too long, usually I take it at most 3 days straight away. Because if the egg is separated from its shell, it will expire quickly.

I like them too and have a few in the fridge and was just thinking about how long they last earlier today. I think probably a week but I need to look it up online.

I would say no more than week but speaking for myself, they don't last that long around here!

Why do they expire early where you live?

Or did you mean they get gobbled up quickly?

We love hard boiled eggs. The Mister has one a day when he is at work. We cook them in a Sunday night and he has them Monday to Friday.. If I’m making sandwiches I would rather use them straight away.

@TheHorse to eat yes, but I like the fresh, slightly warmness of the egg if it’s on a sandwich.

The last dozen eggs I got, about a week ago, was $1.53 a dozen. As for how long a hard boiled egg will last in the fridge? One week or 7 days.

@TheHorse It's less if they are peeled. But I don't know why someone would peel them and then store them.

I sometimes boil an extra egg or two for the next day for salads, etc,. but I never thought about long term storage for a hard boiled egg. I do know it's recommended not to keep the cooked egg in the refrigerator for more than a week.

I love hard boiled eggs — they’re like the perfect lazy snack. I think they last about a week in the fridge, but honestly I usually eat ’em way before that.

One week is fine, but better no more. I like hard boiled eggs, served with thinly sliced ham and mayo, even better with a Russian salad.

I boil up a dozen eggs at a time, peel them and store them in a sealed container in the fridge. I eat one or two a day as snacks. They're supposed to be good for a week when stored that way. (I boil a dozen at a time because Pretty hates the smell so I try not to do it too often. Then I offer her a boiled egg and open the container while she's standing there. ) Pretty says I'm eating chicken farts when I eat boiled eggs.

@TheHorse I try not to fart around her but she was talking about the odor from the eggs when I open a sealed bowl of them. I like waving the open bowl in her direction so she gets the full effect of the egg bouquet.

Boiled eggs do lead to some enjoyable stinky farts.

I like to boil eggs only when i need them, they can spoil quickly inside the refrogerator. I guess they last a few days there.
