We’re in New Mexico.

I have no idea why we left at 3:30am just to stop in New Mexico at 1:30pm for the night. Especially, since we couldn’t get into the hotel until 3pm. BUT, the kids are keeping everyone entertained, and I’m keeping quiet when a squabble breaks out. I’ll let all of them argue with each other and not say a word.
We’re at the Hilton, and while we were going to leave at 6am, their free breakfast doesn’t start until 7am on the weekends. So, we’ll eat breakfast, and then head to Arizona. Tomorrow’s drive should be an hour and a half shorter.
I think that steroid pack my doctor prescribed for the trip is really helping. It’s been decades since I had one, and I don’t remember it helping me like it is now. I’m pleasantly shocked at how well I’m doing. The inflammation seems to be quieting. I’m blessed!
What are your plans this evening and/or tomorrow?

Maybe you left early in case of detours, weather problems or difficulty driving through the mountains?

@AmbiePam Me too. Perhaps they were hoping the kids would sleep for a good portion of the trip. I tried that once. Leaving at 2:00 a.m. All I got for my trouble was seeing little feet in my rear view mirror as they played.

New Mexico is Awesome, just stay away from poor people other than Native Americans, buy some of their crafts, they are awesome. Poor people in New Mexico as nearly as bad as California, meaning two faced. Not trying to better themselves but grift.
There should not be as many there and most of that state is very pretty..I like how red the dirt is there, just different. Parts of Arizona like that and other parts are different and then California has its thing. I always thought it was one of the best three state runs you could get.
Don't know where you going but that is my experience every time. I just love driving through all three of them. You are blessed.

@AmbiePam Nice, tell Mickey I say hi and hope your family has a lovely time, I will warn you to watch out for Ice
Disneyland is well protected but outside that and sure you guys are fine. Ice likes to hang out in areas like that on the outside, and while you are fine other commotion could happen to disturb your children if you know what I am saying. Most of it is taken care of, but you never know so just be careful.

had to go to the library to print and send off a W9, just watching several episodes of Bates Motel now. I did my steps too of course. Glad you are feelin no pain.

@AmbiePam are you headed to the Painted Desert? I think that's in Arizona, right? I remember that area. Amazing beauty! It's mind-boggling what an array of landscapes and different sights we have in our own country.

I am very glad to hear that you are doing well on the trip. I have to admit I was very concerned for you, so it's good to hear that the steroid pack is helping you!
Leaving at 3:30 AM would not have been my cup of tea, nope. But you are there, and hopefully soon you can get some sleep. .

The Travel and the travel plans seem to be going fine.
At times, managing squabble between kids can be pretty tough.
Sometimes I now stay away and they then settle the matter themselves, except in a few cases.
It is vital to have the breakfast at 7 am. 1 hour won't have made things too late.
Good that you kept important medicine with you, that helped.
