We finally have water!

Around 9:30 am a guy from the local water company came today. He checked to make sure our well was disconnected and turned out water on.
My little one has a cold and has been quite difficult. She is not listening well especially with the cute little puppies around. She kept letting them out and I’d have messes to clean up. It almost made her late for school.
After I dropped her off at school I went to the laundromat and washed and dried a few loads. While I was carrying a bag in I saw a man walk to a guardrail and start peeing over it. This was a very busy intersection I was shocked. Disgusted that he had just walked past a gas station, Dunkin’ Donuts, McDonald’s etc where he could have used a bathroom yet chose to do that.
I stopped at Dunkin Donuts after my laundry was done and got my oldest daughter a Wicked Matcha latte and took it to her work. I bought myself a cute Christmas shirt while I was there. I spotted the beerstein in the thrift store I thought it was a neat one compared to most of the ones I see. I didn’t buy it but thought I’d share it here.
After school my little one and I ran to the drugstore and when we got home we were pleasantly surprised to see my husband was home and he already had the pipes in the cellar completed and had the water turned on. After 14 days without running water you couldn’t imagine how happy I was to start cleaning. I kept it pretty good with buckets of water I had gotten from my sister but some things just weren’t as easy without warm water.

I'm glad you finally have running water again. I hope you don't have any more trouble with it for ages to come!
I think you might be telling a little fib about your daughter not listening well... We all know little girls listen very well but do whatever they want anyway.
I don't know why anyone would go pee out in public when they could easily go into a store and use a bathroom. (I've used a tree or bush a few times but that was when I was out in the forest far from a bathroom.)

@Daddyevil with all the geocaching and hiking I’ve done I pee outside often but never in a public area like that. Always in the woods etc far away from any roads or people etc. I was so grossed out by that guy. That was a pretty indecent thing to do.
well she tends to just tune me out so I’m not sure how well she listens even
I had one of the worst showers of my life last night but I should just be thankful to have water again and not act like a spoiled rich girl or something.

Now, she sounds just like Pretty.
Oh, wow! I'm sorry that happened. I hope it wasn't anything to do with the water. I've had bad showers before but, as long as they got me wet and rinsed the soap off, it was good enough. I've NEVER enjoyed a cold shower but I've taken those, too.

@DaddyEvil when the stuff inside the spouts wear out when you pull the stopper up for a shower it doesn’t work as well so water comes out the shower head and the spout. If was tolerable before with the well water but with the high pressure from the city water it made a huge amount of water come out the spout and not a lot out of the shower head. So there was no turning the knobs down to reduce the amount of water coming out. I washed my hair added conditioner, shaved my legs fast washed my face and ran out of warm water. It got so cold so fast. My hair was still covered in conditioner and I hadn’t had time to wash my body or shave my armpits etc. My husband now needs to put a new tub faucet in. It’s been needed for a few years but he wouldn’t do it.

Not having water would be so difficult. A few years ago we had to boil ours for a week but we could still use it. I am glad it's fixed at last!

@MarieCoyle yeah even boiling it I’d still be nervous to drink it too. I don’t blame you for doing what you did.

When it happened to us it was for 3 days...they said we could shower in it, but we didn't. I went to my daughter's. We were scared to cook with it, so I had some gallons of bottled water, we used that for cooking when we needed water.

@Deepizzaguy yes I am so very thankful. Now we have a water bill to pay and the water doesn’t taste as good as our well did but any water is better then no water.

You are always so busy, so I am glad that having running water will make it a little easier. Some cities I have been in the businesses will tell you they do not have a public restroom. Like gas stations. On the other hand I think food establishments have to have public restrooms, but maybe they say you have to be a paying customer. Anyway, I wonder if Mr. Self Exposure was drunk or high out of his mind.

Congratulations! I was without water 3 days in a blizzard several years ago, but fortunately, we had some warning so had enough around to flush toilets and so forth. You don't realize what you have until it's gone. BTW, are you still doing Fetch?

@snowy22315 yes when the power goes out in storms we always loose the ability to have water due to the well. That won’t happen any longer which is one thing to be grateful for with town water.
Yep I get way behind though on submitting receipts.

@wolfgirl569 I am too. Some things are leaking due to the high pressure of the town water though. It’s always something
but better then no water at all. A part came in the mail today that should help reduce the pressure.
