So I guess because we got up early everyone thought we could go to bed at 7pm (which we did) and sleep the whole night through. Which meant at 2am Amyra and I were staring at each other, biding time until everyone else got up. It’s 4am now, and everyone but Hudson is stirring. The picture is Amyra yesterday in the van around 10am. Leaving at 3am will do that to you. Lol It’s been fun so far! Today should be a great day.

Poor Amyra. Did she have a stiff neck when she woke up? I hope not.

She actually did, but I gave her my travel pillow, and using it made the rest of the day far more comfortable for her.

@JudyEv My sister said she sleeps in really weird positions. All of the family routinely go to the chiropractor (except Annelyn), so that should help later. Hudson loves the chiropractor.

Maybe they like to travel in the middle of the night so the kids will sleep.

They didn’t sleep while it was dark, but around 11am, as you can see, Amyra fell asleep. I do wish we had stayed up later because it took me about two hours to fall asleep last night. I kind of like traveling at night…as long as I’m not driving. And, we all got to see an amazing sunrise. Totally worth it.

She is sound asleep and she does not seem to be bothered by the moving van.

Long road trips can be tough on everyone. I always took a sleeping bag for Pretty when we traveled around the country. When she got tired, I'd pull over, let her get into her sleeping bag in the back seat of the Daytona and buckle her in... When I got tired, I'd find a roadside park and recline the driver's seat and sleep for a few hours. When she woke up, she'd wake me up and we'd drive on. At least she was good company while she was awake. She always talked my ears off.

That looks extremely uncomfortable. But she is still young and flexible

Poor Amyra slept with her neck bent, it would definitely be difficult for her to move her neck when she woke up.

I recall a lot of fun car trips when the kids were small. They played games, counted license plates and states, sang songs...,fun times. Now, most kids have movie screens in vehicles, or IPads, etc., so they are quietly occupied. I hope you all have the best time!!
