The Wigwam Motel

So as we were driving today, we came across The Wigwam Motel, and, of course, had to get a picture of one of their motel rooms. I’ve been told they are very simple inside, but it’s such a cool concept, who cares? This is on Route 66, but I’m sure other people have talked about it too at one point. Anyway, there were about eight wigwams (teepee) motel rooms, and in front of each was a beautiful classic car. My sister got this picture on our way to Kingman, Arizona where we are at a Holiday Inn Express tonight. This is better than last night because our suite has two rooms so we won’t all share one space, and one bathroom. Luckily, there is also a free breakfast in the morning so I can save myself some money! How is your evening?

I'm sure the kids would have enjoyed staying in the teepees but that would be a little rough on adults. I wonder if they have air mattresses inside them? I just woke up a few minutes ago and took my evening meds. I still haven't figured out what I'm eating for late lunch. Pretty said she's not hungry but doesn't feel sick, thank goodness. (I always worry she's going to give me whatever she got that made her sick.) I hope you all have a good night.

@AmbiePam Thanks. My tummy is a little upset but that's because I am lactose intolerant and drank a vanilla milkshake this afternoon. Believe me, the taste was well worth the upset stomach.

We stayed at them in Hobrook, AZ. Our teepee had it's own bathroom, real beds and air conditioner and wasn't bad. It was basic but fun. Back then, there was no wi-fi and TV. I heard they offer that now.

I bet that would be a fun place to stay. I bet it’s pretty expensive per night to rent though., I love free breakfasts in hotels.

It might be expensive, but on the other hand, it’s not in the best part of town.

It is a regular motel with bathroom, air and heat…it just looks rustic. It’s really simple.

I remember a curious shop shaped like a tipi, it was in Tucumcari. I am glad you were in a better hotel this night.
