Hey, I’m out of alphabetical order! I had the wrong song highlighted yesterday, so you get yesterday’s song today. Unlike yesterday’s song, you’ll know this, you’ll love it, and you’ll sing along. Yes, although it’s an instrumental it has lyrics…okay, lyric. You know your part! Tequila - The Champs I’ll blame @LooeyVille for the mistake (she’s in Chuy’s at the moment…next table over, we’re throwing chips at each other )! No, it was MY mistake. I hope nobody thought I was going to ignore this classic. This hit #1 in 1958 (knocking Elvis out of the top spot!). It’s closing in on 70 years old, and it’s still referenced all over the place…either the music itself or the shout of “tequila!” at an appropriate (or even inappropriate) time. Earlier this week the obits list mentioned that Champs rhythm guitarist David Burgess passed away in October at the age of 90. This song lives on.
