He Passed Lastnight

This morning Josh went to the bathroom, and I could hear him blowing his nose and trying to clear his head. I asked him if wanted a cold tablet. He came out into the hall and broke down. "I don't think it will help." Mittens had passed. He had been staying in Josh's room and Josh had been trying each day to get Mittens to try to eat a little bit. He had been sickly for several weeks. Josh is such a cat whisperer. So kind and patient. He had Mitten's in his room the last couple of weeks, offering him water and pate food each day. Mitten would drink some but couldn't eat much. Poor animal. He lasted quite a while. All I hear from Josh's room now is crying and moaning. It's so sad. They were so close. We talked for quite a while earlier and now he wants some time alone. He and his mom will take Mittens over to the Vet this afternoon and we will be keeping his ashes.
