I made my doctor laugh

I want to say that I am so thankful for my primary care physician. She listens, values me as a person, and has a great sense of humor.
I was not trying to make her laugh, she could just see the total irony in a situation.
This is the first I had been able to discuss the clinical trial I am in. I got to discuss with her what few little symptoms I have had, including being queasy the following morning after my first injection.
If you do not follow me or see my posts regularly I will recap briefly. I am in a clinical trial for an injectable medicine for weight loss and diabetes. The day of the first injection I had been fasting for about twelve hours when all was said and done.
The clinic is in the same parking lot as a Village Inn Restaurant. My appointment was on a Wednesday. Wednesday is free pie day, if you order a meal. I was too full to eat my pie but took it home.
I told the doctor that I was mildly queasy that first morning, because I had eaten my pie for breakfast.
It is very ironic that a down home cooking restaurant shares the parking lot with a clinic where they are doing a clinical trial, and I had pie for breakfast the next day.
We laughed about many other things that day, as I had just had a rough day full of minor annoyances. I needed the laugh.
(Annoyances like locking my keys in the car, and spilling my hot coffee on myself. She asked if I at least got to enjoy SOME of the coffee.)
All ended well that evening and I had some good and bad on my labs. She sent me to have some extra labs drawn that I do not normally have.
I feel pretty blessed.
She suspects that I have some level of medication, and not the placebo, based on those very light symptoms. Plus I am down about four pound from the last time I saw her.
We (Bob and I) like our doctor a lot.

She is very reliable and trust worthy. She also often shares things that she and I have in common.

They are increasing the dose on a monthly basis, and it really is not bothering me, so I am fortunate.

I'm glad the medication seems to be helping you lose some weight. That's always nice when something works correctly!

Yes, it is. And no muscle pains and really no other bothersome things either.

@GardenGerty My weight is yo-yoing so we'll talk to the doctor again and see if she has any suggestions.

I used to avoid doctors as much as possible. Even when I shouldn't have. I am glad that as I have gotten older I have found a good one.

I'm glad you have a good primary care doctor--I know how hard it can be to find one. I would not do any type of one of these trials as I just have too many issues already. But I know some people do them and have no effects.

I did some reading before I decided to do this. I read about related medicines and how people react. The listed known side effects were not anything that would be major for me. Much better than the statins doctors prescribed as well as the Jardiance.

I am sure that you are being closely monitored. And oh, I know about all of those side effects!

Hey, that 4 pound loss is a great start. Cool that you probably got the med. How nice that you like your doctor. I hope I like mine. I will find out next month some time.

It is good when you can tell that your doctor respects you and is not just in it for the money or whatever. I learn a lot from her, but she is positive and lifts my spirits as well.

Luckily Bob had a spare. He is always willing to go on a drive to bring them to me, too. I was determined not to let it ruin our visit, and Jane and I even went over to the Thrift Shop while we waited.

How the doctor inteacts with patient makes a big difference to the recovery process.
I am glad you have a doctor to put you at ease.
I meet all types - a few treating patents as mere digits while others leaving a positive impression that we are in good hands.

I agree with you. This doctor respects me and recognizes that I am not ignorant. I do love her smile, though, as well.

I'm glad you have a good PCP. I like mine too. Interesting about the clinical trial. I'm sorry you locked your keys in the car and spilled coffee on yourself...I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend...

The solution was pretty easy. Jane drove me to the thrift shop and the doctor's office. Bob met me there. I have gotten all of my end of year stuff done.
