Do you keep things that are functional, but imperfect?

So I have this ottoman, and the top comes off for storage (it’s not a huge one at all or I wouldn’t want it). I got it for free, but there was a slit in the side, like a two inch, precise slice. I might not have noticed it, but I was supposed to review it, and I was looking it over carefully. After I wrote the middling review, the company sent me a brand new, unblemished ottoman of the same kind (I updated the review to reflect that). However, I kept the one with the slit. I thought since it was useful, and barely noticeable, who cared? Someone else told me they would have thrown it away. Well, I like putting my feet up, I like the storage, and it looks nice. Having two is great.
Do you keep functional, but imperfect things?

Sure, if I can use them..why not? Now you have two cool ottomans.

If the slice is only 2 inches and barely noticeable, it should be easy enough to mend. Just slip some tape under it.

Absolutely. One of my desk chairs is from my house, and was in my Mom's sewing room. The "faux leather" is peeling off in several places, but I still use it! A few pieces of furniture in here are either second-hand, or (mostly) picked up at one of the dumpster areas here at the apartment complex!

My grandma gave me her recliner, and the faux leather was coming off so badly it was getting stuck to my skin, so I got this cheap seat cover that goes over just the part that is shedding. It’s the same color as the chair, so it doesn’t look that bad. I’m just thankful for what I have. It works, so I’m keeping it!

@AmbiePam Jane has a quilted cover on her recliner, I am not sure where she got it, but it looks good and does not stick to the skin.

That pretty much describes the house I live in.
Describes me, too.

I would have kept it. I would likely, at some point, try to repair it, but if it does not show, it would not be priority.

Yes, we do. As long as it's still functional, we keep whatever it is.

I keep things until they are shot or until they are ready to be donated.

I used to do that , in the hope that I will get them fixed, but I really dont have time for such again, so I replace them once they are damaged.

I do, for sure. I hate throwing anything away, especially if it still has life in it. I'm not a hoarder by any means, but I try to get the absolute most out of everything I have before getting rid of it.
