What a Load of Bologna

"Now, that makes me mad." When you read that line, you have to take on the persona and voice the cartoon dog character, Droopy, to get the full effect. I had a few things to get at Walmart today. Luckily, it was a rather short list. Still, I spent just a tad over $100. I needed wet and dry cat food, some sour cream, some creamer for the missus, Rain-X windshield washer fluid (I will use no other anymore), I picked up a couple cans of peas, a jar of sauerkraut for a planned pork and Kraut dinner, some sliced mushrooms (for a beef stroganoff play along with the sour cream), an Intex pump for a Christmas gift (there's a reason), a jar of Tostito's creamy spinach dip for the wife (for brownie points), a loaf of bread... And a 1-pound package of Bar-S bologna. Well, that's where the trouble hit. I got home and checked my receipt, which was "a stupid thing to do..." Say that one like Mr. Magoo. I should have checked it at the store, of course, and it seems any time I don't, that's when something goes wrong. Call it irony. Murphy's law. Or Bauer's luck. Any of them fit, really. The cashier rung up my bologna twice. So, a 1-pound package that should have been $1.78 wound up being $3.56. Ooh, that grates me. For this one you will need to conjure up Wimpy from the Popeye cartoons. It's not a lot of money. But of course, every penny matters, and I just hate when that happens. I didn't go back for my money. I will find another way to recoup my loss. But all I can say is dammit. By the way, there's no cartoon character I can think of who said that, so on that one you'll just have to be on your own.

Are you sure Donald Duck or Porky Pig didn't slip one in somewhere?

I would be mad too even though it wasn't a huge amount of money. Maybe you could call the store and ask for a refund?

You can get credit the next time you're in the store. I hate when that happens.

It is annoying when a cashier incorrectly rings up an item. I do check the receipt before leaving the store and have saved some aggravation on having to waste gas to drive back there and have it corrected.

I hate when this happens, I usually check the ticket before leaving the store, but when you are in a hurry this may happen. What surprised me is the mention "Classic Bologna" but it's made with chicken. I suppose our Bologna is different from yours.

That is extremely annoying when that happens! At least it wasn't on a really expensive item, but still! I had it happen recently too - and it was after the cashier saw that he rung up something twice and took the extra off. I got home and I think there were 2 other items that were charged double. I should have gone back, but the store is in another town 20 minutes away.

That's irritating. Can you go back to the store and show your receipt and get credit for the one bologna that you didn't buy?
