A hide-and-seek puzzle for you

I bought a new tomato plant a few weeks back. My first one has a second crop of fruit with about 9 more tomatoes just starting to ripen. This bush is a different variety but now has two tiny tomatoes on it. One is near the bottom of the photo just to the left of the left-hand stake and the other is more or less directly above it. They’re only tiny but hopefully they’ll grow a bit bigger before turning red.
We took down most of the Christmas lights yesterday and will do the rest today. It’s going to be up near 37C (100F) again today. Thank heavens I’m not out fighting fires. I don’t know how they do it in such heat. We really owe these people a lot.

I spotted them! Fun fact about growing 'maters: my dad was color-blind, so he was unable to determine when the tomatoes in his garden had ripened. Fortunately, he had a sharp-eyed kid (me) to help him with that!

That's interesting about you having to help your Dad determine which tomatoes were ripe. I don't know much about colour-blindness but I think it's hard for those with the condition to distinquish between red and green.

@AliCanary I've heard before that some people don't know they have it until a particular event brings it out in the open.

@JudyEv there are different kinds, and so it varies which colors are challenging. I don't think he even realized he WAS color blind until he was taking a chemistry class and doing titration. The color had LONG since changed, and he hadn't realized it!

I see them. I saw the higher one first. Do you ever fix green tomatoes? I've never had them but have heard they are good.
Yes, I think firefighters are a breed unto themselves. I sure couldn't do it either.

I did find your tomatoes. Yes, the awful heat causes fires and then makes it very hard to fight them.

They are tiny but they look healthy, it takes a while before they grow, but as soon as they start to change colour, the process is fast. After tomorrow is the Epiphany day here and in many European countries. We take down the Christmas decorations after that day.

It looks like a good, healthy plant. I also hope you get more tomatoes from it in time.
I have no idea how people can stand temps like that, even without fighting fires! I stay in the house with the A/C running when the temps get that hot here.

@JudyEv I used to work all the time, too. I remember carrying towels with me when I left so I could dry my face, arms and hands before going in anywhere.

And our climates reflect that.
