What a start to the new year! This evening I changed the bedsheets (didn’t need my asthma medication afterwards, either! 
) and did a load of laundry. A little cleaning, too.
See the pretty, colorful blanket? That was a gift from our sweet myLotter @MarieCoyle , which she gave me last year when we had lunch together. 
Today is my aunt’s 93rd birthday!! 
Yesterday her two surviving siblings and their wives, and my brother and I went to the home where she lives and had a great time. She is battling Alzheimer’s, but yesterday she was doing very well. We joked and had some cake and celebrated the time together. With my younger uncle living in Florida we don’t see them all together anymore. The last time was at my aunt’s (their younger sister) funeral in 2019. 
Great to see them for a happy occasion.
Two doctors’ appointments later this month, then I can take off! I have a telehealth appointment with my psychologist in early February, but I already told her to expect to see the beach over my shoulder on that call.
I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays, even if that meant just staying home, chilling, and drinking hot chocolate or tea. Remember to take care of yourself as your New Year’s resolution!!

I pray you'll get to do that again before mid summer, gatherings like that are too infrequent
My only so called resolution is simply an extention of last years so called resolution, I swore I'd start sifting through all the junk I've stashed into my spare bedroom, it's coming along although slowly. This morning I found a box of papers that used to be important to me, I threw out most of it .... whew, at least it's a start. I'm doin my best not to hoard the way ma did.

I’ve done some decluttering over the holidays. Opened my junk room door last night and couldn’t believe how clean it is in there. First time in years I’ve seen the floor!

Nice job.
I can finally see the front quarter of that room which is a start.
Now I have to figure out what to do with 2 old 32" TVs that don't work anymore, I'd put the stupid things in the dumpster but they're those old style clunky types and won't fit

@FourWalls - I was very glad to have my Mom until she was 96 and with a very well functioning brain. Sadly, my husband is deteriorating.

I'm glad you had a good time with your family. 
And that is a very bright blanket! It hurts my eyes just looking at it.
I won't do telehealth appointments. If they can't see me in person, I'm not getting value for my money. I need to reschedule my Ophthalmologist appointment Monday. Since the holidays are over, I should be able to get in to see him.

Older relatives are a treasure! I'm glad she was having a good day. It will be a lovely memory to look back on.

I use what they call “white noise” sounds like rain or a train going along tracks (without the horn) for sleeping.

And it’s bright enough to see after I turn the lights off!

How pretty and colorful.
Being around older folks sure is nice. Time with them is so precious. They have great stories to tell too. I always enjoy time spent.
We had a quiet New Year's here. I watched the celebrations around the world like I usually do and listened to fireworks going off all around the valley although I couldn't see them. The kids both went to bed rather early.
I hope it is a good year for you.

It really is cool being around older people. When I was 14 my parents managed a “snowbird” hotel in Daytona Beach. I was 14, and I LOVED being around those seniors and listening to them! (Except when they watched Lawrence Welk. 
)

Oh, Karen, I’m so glad you like the blanket. I picked out that fabric because it had such nice colors that seemed to compliment the spirit of the lady I was making it for. Thank you.
What a nice and special time you had with your family to celebrate your aunt’s birthday. I know you must be having itchy feet to go on a trip to the beach. Sounds wonderful to me!

I have to wait until my aunt and uncle get back to Florida before taking off. Not like I can stop by and see them while they’re up here! Also, my uncle said he’s doing some filming next week (he’s an actor), so I have to check his schedule.
I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to make it for me. It’s a perfect extra layer!
