An interactive puppy

My mom’s friend got me a puppy for New Year’s present. It’s a stuffed puppy that is interactive. Its features include voice control, singing, walking, wagging, repeating what you say, and licking. The one feature it lacks is pooping but that’s for the best. It operates on three AA batteries. It comes with plastic accessories which include: a bowl with two bones, a mirror, a hairbrush, a bar of soap, two different spray bottles, a pair of scissors, and something else that resembles scissors I forget the name of. Forceps perhaps? I told my mom this toy is for kids but she says no. Somehow I doubt that. The plastic toys seem to confirm that. An adult is not going to pretend feed the puppy, or pretend cut its hair, or pretend wash it. An adult will also not hold its leash while it walks (after pressing a button on the leash). It did make me smile when I tested out the walking feature. The puppy seemed to be singing as it walked. Or at least there was music playing. Don’t remember which as I tried it only once. I guess there’s a benefit to having this puppy. Lifts the mood a bit. It did bark when I was trying to close the battery cover, which startled me because I didn’t expect it to bark.

It sounds like something Pretty would fall in love with. She's always wanted a furbaby but I'm allergic to dogs and cats so they're no-gos here. You might change your mind about it later on. Don't get rid of it and think of it as a companion instead of a pet and see how that works for you.

I guess it’s great for those that want a pet but are allergic.

I definitely can’t get rid of it. My mom ordered one as well and she can’t wait till it arrives.

I think they help people who are secluded and lonely. Maybe they can’t have real pets. There was one Mylotter who bought a fake baby that looked real and made a nursery for it, and dressed it and took it for walks in a stroller. It brought her comfort.

It’s worth it if the puppy brings comfort or happiness to someone.

A puppy that sings? Interesting. You're only as old as you feel.

I will play with it some more and see if it really sings or just music comes on when it walks.

I wouldn't really want a pretend puppy. I don't like colouring books either but everyone's different.

Of course real puppies are better but they are a big responsibility. Guess this is supposed to be the next best thing.

Wow! It might be expensive with those kinds of features. I would love to have that too.

They say it helps seniors with loneliness and a lot of other issues. I am considering investing in one. Do you think I should or should not? I guess you are not much of a fan of this puppy. The net says Robotic puppies, like the Tombot Jennie, are designed to provide emotional support and companionship, particularly for seniors dealing with conditions such as dementia, anxiety, or loneliness. I’m not sure if it’s considered a robotic puppy. Can’t say if I’m a fan of mine or not as I haven’t really played with it yet, aside from accidentally pressing a button on the leash and it starting to walk and sing. I will try it out more later.
