I've finished another jigsaw

The photo shows the jigsaw puzzle that I’ve just completed. Unfortunately, there are four pieces missing but I’ve noted them on the packet so I’ll know next time I play it. It wasn’t nearly as hard as I thought it would be. I did the birds first then the tigers, followed by the water. When I was down to the last 200 or so pieces, I sorted the pieces according to shape. Next, I might redo the one my son gave me last Christmas. I expect it to be a little bit easier this time.

In my opinion, I found the famous oil painting jigsaw is very difficult to finish

You seem to be good at doing this. I admit I am no good and easily gets impatient when I find it hard to assemble each jigsaw piece together.

@JudyEv I love doing the paint by number for adults version it can be confusing to locate numbers to color them but l can finish it. Lately I’ve tried the diamond beads art as well and was able to finish it even though I got tired but when it comes to jigsaw puzzles l feel dizzy looking at them and assembling them piece by piece.

Thats the gorgeous Bengal Toigder. Wow, that's such a thoughtful gift from your son. I, too, enjoy puzzles now and then, but at this stage in my life, I feel life is the biggest puzzle for me. Not only im unaware of the image im sure I'm lacking most of the blocks . I hope you had a great Christmas, and I pray you have a great year ahead.

@JudyEv You should suggest a contest of dome sort. Of course you might all have to work on the same or similar puzzles to make it fair.

How many pieces total? I suppose I could count an edge and do the math (assuming it's square), but I am too lazy.

@TheHorse Mostly but sometimes if there is a long skyline and the pieces are very distinct from each other then I might leave that bit till later.

It's 1,000 piece. My friend does the maths when we're not sure if the edge is as long as it should be. It's not a square but a rectangle.

They are quite expensive to buy new. I've picked up a few from op shops but you have to be prepared for a piece or two to be missing.
