MId-Week Coffee Talk

United States

Happy Wednesday Everyone! we're getting a reprieve from the winter cold and a warmup for the next few days. It will be nice not to freeze when you step outside. I don't have any exciting plans for today. Actually I passed on a trip to Hobby Lobby with my oldest daughter. She texted earlier and said she was going if I wanted to tag along. Normally I wouldn't hesitate because I do love Hobby Lobby but she was going too early for me. She needs some supplies for orders for her Etsy shop so she wanted to be there when they practically opened. Me, I need my coffee before I can venture out. Now I'm sitting here enjoying my 2nd cup of coffee but thinking about the yarn aisle at Hobby Lobby. Gee now I almost wish I had gone. I'm waiting to hear from my son as he's going to come and do some things I need done around the house. We were talking on Christmas about his "to do" list so when he has a slow day at work he'll come and tackle my projects. It's pasta night here so we'll be having air fried eggplant cutlets with spaghetti. Its one of my favorite meals and I always look forward to it. At least once a week we try to have a meatless meal so this works well. That pretty much sums up what's happening here. How's your day going?

I've never tried eggplant and I don't want to spend money on one cuz if I don't like it then it's wasted, wood be a shame wouldn't it

You're too kind .... can you compare the flavor with another kind of veggie?

If it's not something you've had than it probably wouldn't be something you might spend money on and not like. Now if you lived closer I would invite you over to try some.

@rebelann I don't know if it has a taste similar to any other vegetables . Maybe the closest would be zucchini?

I hope your son will show up and fix what you need to be fixed. I just take out my bread from the oven, it smells so good.

Yes, he'll be here when he has a slow day at work and can come here and tackle the things I need done. Usually my grandson comes too and between the two of them it shouldn't be too hard to get everything done in one day. My list is always ongoing but I'm at a point now where I don't have the ability to do heavy lifting, etc anymore. Yum, nothing is better than homemade bread fresh from the oven.

@Marilynda1225 - We have a neighbor who is capable to do everything around a house. He tells me all the time to call him if I need to fix something. I still do as much as I can myself, but if there is to climb a ladder now I call him. The home made bread tastes so good, so much better the bread sold in grocery stores.

@LadyDuck my granddaughter has been making sourdough bread and will share it with us . Nothing is better than homemade Glad you have someone who will help especially if you need to climb a ladder. That's why I need help sometimes too especially if a light bulb needs replacing

That sounds like a very tasty dinner! I’m probably with you though on not getting to shops as soon as they open. I need time to wake up myself. I took Sadie to the vet today, and then went to the post office.

@Marilynda1225 She got home from my friend’s (after my vacation) with a different look to her stool, and it hasn’t returned to normal. Thankfully, she is eating, drinking, and playing fine. Also, sorry for the description! She needed her rabies vaccine anyway, so at least I could get that done at the same time. And I am the same way. I need plenty of time for my medicine to kick in after I take it.

Hope Sadie is okay and only needed a checkup? It usually takes me a good hour after I get up before I can function. First I have to take my pills for my aches and pains and then coffee to get my brain working lol

@Marilynda1225 ........Yeah, I don't know how vegetarians do it. I'm glad I had money to pay for her to get an Uber so she wasn't late. Any later in the month I might not have had the $$. My grandson is great. I thank my lucky stars he is here with us.

I enjoy meatless meals once or twice a week but I don't think I could ever give up meat. Sorry you had such trouble with your Lyft. Having your grandson there is a great help. I always have to call one of mine to come over when I need help.

I wondered how long it would take before regrets for passing up the ride to Hobby Lobby would take. I bet you could have talked your daughter into stopping at a coffee shop on the way there. I slept four hours this morning and found Pretty awake when I went to the bathroom. I've been having trouble with the new BP monitor so asked her to test it in case it just didn't like me... Nope, it has to go back to the manufacturer in Florida... We'll take it to the Post Office when we get out in a day or two. We picked up two steaks at the store yesterday and a pork loin. I'll make the steaks for dinner tonight with steamed veggies and then roast the pork loin with onions, potatoes and spices... I've been wanting some roast for a while now. I hope you're having a wonderful day.

@Marilynda1225 Spending money is an every-day type of thing. They say it just needs a small adjustment and they'll get it back to me. I've eaten steak at a restaurant once and much prefer cooking them myself.

Sorry that your BP monitor has to go back. What a hassle. I just finished returning a few things and it's such a nuisance. Hope you enjoy your steaks. I love steak but never cook it as well as eating it out. Yup, I did regret not going to Hobby Lobby this morning. If she had waited a few hours I would have gladly gone. At least I didn't spend any money today

@Marilynda1225 Next time she asks you, I hope you had your coffee first or you could stop for coffee on the way. Pasta is a good idea. I don't have eggplant, but I have pasta. I'll think about it.

We only had enough milk for one cup of coffee this morning so we'll be walkng up to the shop shortly so we can have our second cup. We think our throats are cut if we run out of milk! lol

Many years ago I learned to drink my coffee black so I wouldn't be stuck if I didn't have milk. It took awhile to get used to drinking it black but now I can't drink it with milk
