Sadie’s Vet Visit

So, Sadie had to go to the vet today. Since she came back from my friend’s house, she eats, drinks, and plays like normal. However, her stool has been soft and lighter in color (sorry for the description). I finally had enough money to take her due to Christmas money from my aunts. Well, everything looked fine, so they are sending “samples” to be examined for maybe a parasite. Which wouldn’t surprise me considering my friend who kept her has so many dogs! They recommended doing a blood panel just because she is a senior dog, but when I told them my income they understood why I couldn’t. I told them I had a birthday coming up so maybe I’ll receive some money (aunts again) for that and I can come back and do the blood panel. So we’re home, and she’s happy. In fact, she’s napping on my lap.I sure do love her. When was the last vet visit?

@DaddyEvil That’s a shame for so many reasons, but I bet animals love you.

@AmbiePam They do. When we go visit somebody with pets, the pets crawl all over me.

@AmbiePam I understand. And while Pretty would love to dog sit for you, I can't let her. I'm allergic to furbabies.

I hope everything comes back okay. Having to to the vet can really be expensive so I do understand tou waiting for the blood work. Mush has been going to the vet every few week to have a nasty skin tag frozen behind her ear. It got so big and she keeps scratching it and making it bleed. The vet said she's too old for anesthesia and surgically removing it so this is working but much slower and of course expensive for every visit.

It's probably nothing serious from what you describe. I use the farm store for vaccinations. Thankfully haven't needed anything else for a couple of years.

That makes me feel better. She also got her rabies shot today. She was due for it next month anyway.

I hope she hasn't picked up anything. Our friends up the road have a sick little dog and are very worried about her.

I hope they took it to the vet. Honestly, Judy, I’m having a hard time not being annoyed with my friend who watched her. Whatever it is, Sadie picked it up at her house. She didn’t have to volunteer to watch her, that was nice, but she could make sure there weren’t any parasites to pick up! Because I bet that is what Sadie has. She’s never around other dogs.

@JudyEv Oh, I hope the dog is going to be okay; that’s scary. My friend said none of her dogs are sick, but I’m not sure how she’d know. My only clue was Sadie’s stool, and my friend’s dogs have so much acreage there is no way she’s observing what they are leaving behind.

@AmbiePam They were taking her to the vet yesterday. I might ring and see what eventuated. Some favours have unexpected consequences. Do you know if any of your friend's dogs are sick? They many not be because they're used to whatever is there.

Pedro went in July. Bruno went in May, I think. They are both too fat.

Last time I was at the vet they told me to have Sadie lose weight. Today, they told me not to let her lose more (she lost 1 pound). I wish they’d make up their minds. Sadie weights 6.5 pounds right now.

I hope you get the money soon. It is very good to have loving aunts, I received a red envelope from my aunt also last holiday. I don't have a cat anymore.
