Home sweet home

Well I never call this place "home" even after almost 7 years. I always call it "the apartment". I think I've slipped up just once or twice in all of this time. It is a conscious choice to not call it home. In any case I'm back here at the apartment with the cat crew. Once the NP gave me the results of the abdominal ultrasound the nurse got started on the discharge papers. Oh and I asked the NP for a work note for yesterday and today. She asked if I wanted one for tomorrow too. I was like NO! Normally I would be all over that but I'm out of sick days so I get docked quite a bit from my check for every day off going forward. When I signed the discharge paperwork the nurse asked if I wanted a wheelchair. I said yes because with my heavy bag and balance issues it would have been a challenge to walk out and also the place is huge and like a labyrinth. I was surprised to see that he himself was the one who was taking me. I was even more surprised when he not only took me to the lobby but outside to the elevator, in the elevator, and all the way to my car. Door to door service! That is not typical. (remember the drama from yesterday) Oh so while I waited for transport I texted my ex to let him know I was being discharged. His response was "Good. Don't crash on the way out of the garage." I replied "You are not even funny" and included a middle finger emoji. (didn't include that in the image b/c I don't want this to get deleted) He then said "Yet I never crashed in the parking garage." His humor is one of the reasons why I love him. People who don't know him might think he was being rude but he was just being funny. Not going to lie--he had me kind of freaked out getting out of the parking garage but I was fine. When I got onto the main road I called him and said "Just wanted to let you know that I exited the garage without incident." Again--this is going to sound rude but it wasn't meant that way--he replied with "Well you have 3 towns to get through so you still have potential." So like I said I'm back here. The cats are very happy to see me even though I've only been gone for a day and a half. I can't wait to take a shower. I just wanted to jump on here to update you all that I am out of the hospital and I'm very happy about that.

Yay! Welcome home...ahem, back to Catland!! I'm glad your ex feels comfortable enough to joke with you about that, because that is probably an unpleasant memory. Sooo...what did they say, or did they just say "we'll give you a call"?

I am glad that you came home. I hope all that you do before you return to work is eat, sleep, and love on the kitties. Take care of YOU, please.

Good for you. That's the kind of banter that Vin and I sling at each other. Did you have to pay for parking at the hospital?
