Love That Look

It's beautiful. I just threw everything in as it was getting cold outside. If I had taken time to stack I would have a lot more room left. It cost us 1,900 for over 400 pounds of beef. That's a huge savings when a pound of ground beef is almost 6 dollars here now. And I have lots of steaks and roasts that cost even more. We have over 100 pounds of ground beef too.
I spent 10.50 at the auction today. I got hubby 3 packages of twizzlers, 20 more chocolate eggs, 3 boxes of a vitamin based cat food supplement and 4 ding dong scented candles. I am hoping Pretty cat will eat the food supplement. She is getting older so it would be good for her. The candles really do smell like the ding dong cakes.
It got to 61 here today but started dropping after noon. At 8 this evening we are already down to 39. That is a huge drop and I am getting very tired of these extreme temperature swings. At least I have a heated footstool tonight. Duke doberman is laying against my chair enjoying the heated blanket with me.
Hope you had a good day.

Was that the total price, for the processing as well? Our ground beef is wildly priced here. We have been using ground turkey way more often than we used to--ground beef is a treat at $6.50-$7.00 per pound.

@MarieCoyle That is everything. I tried the turkey and we were not crazy about it as a substitute. Ground beef is just under 6 dollars a pound here. So 400 pounds of that would have been 2400. So even if I had ground everything I would still be saving money.

@LadyDuck I had grabbed sirloin steak. But it was still very tasty. I need to organize it maybe this week. I see some of my stew beef but not my cube steak. And you can guess what I am wanting

@wolfgirl569 Unfortunately I don't have room for a full size freezer. I had one years ago and I remember how much I could fit into it. So I am going to be stuck with a small one.

If you have room buy a full sized deep freezer. They hold more but don't really need more to run

That's a beautiful sight! And yes, saving money in the long run!
Candles that smell like food usually make people eat more than they should. I'd pass on those. I do like Black Cherry candles, though.
That was a good deal for what you bought at the auction.
We only reached 56F for a high today and are down to 41F at 3 am.
Have a good night.

@wolfgirl569 Pretty is better at saving up money for things unless it's something I REALLY want.

It is. It's worth saving up to get.
