Some of the 'kitty' is out of the bag / myLot

Hubby told me a little of what he has been up to lately. He wants my upcoming birthday to be a blow out. Got to love my sweetie. He called the Safeway in the town south of us and had them make a German chocolate cake. Tomorrow I will scoot over there and pick it up at noon then scoot back home for what appears to be an incoming birthday/writers meeting party. I think I will grab some fresh raspberries while I am in the store. Two people that live not too close to us say they intend to be here! The lady says they live only about two hours away. I've been over to where they live. I'm thinking three hours each way but if they want to be part of the shebang, fun! My house will be full and then some. Today we're listening to a Nora Roberts crime novel and once in a while I take a break to do a few things like check to see how clean the toilet is- guests are coming! I hear hubby upstairs rustling a whats it.We are out of wrapping paper but I found a gift bag. He is being beyond adorable.

@AmbiePam My crazy household. We had a couple of new people over so I made a simple little cake. I set it on the table. Next thing I know, I'm getting plates out, I heard the guy guest trying to sound nicely polite. He was telling Peter to get away from the cake. Thank God for animal people!

@crossbones27 Thanks and I agree with you. Everyone in the gathering is a bit eccentric, some writers, the youngest aiming to be Goth. Just going to be fun for sure.

Thanks. @just4him I just ran into a post on Facebook- poetry contest asking for submissions. It''s a group centered in a part of my state that is dear to my being. which poems are worthy?? Eeeeek. It's been years since any of my kids were in a smal press. I hear the call.

@Nakitakona Good question. It's a chocolate cake with coconut in the frosting. I will have to look up why it is called German chocolate- there is rich chocolate from Germany.
