It was Christmas today for me

Sort of. I skipped the family Christmas dinner last month because I just wasn't feeling it. I had already sent ahead the gift for my mother, sister, and BIL but I still had the gift cards for my niece and nephew. I texted my sister yesterday to check on our second dad and then I told her I still had the gift cards for the kids. She replied that she had stuff for me as well. So I told her to just leave it on the back porch and I'd haul ass over there after work to get it and leave the gift cards before I had to be back here for the tutoring. There were 2 big reusable bags of presents. My mother gave me a cool sweater that says "BEACH" (I love the beach), a Christmas mug that she got on her trip to Germany, 2 books (Phantom of the Opera and The Secret Garden), and $100 (presumably for a massage). She also sent a bag of cat toys and treats for the crew. My sister gave me a beautiful navy blue LL Bean sweater, a mini skin care set, an ornament that has the last picture we all took with my dad, and a set of lip balms. My second parents gave me a funny little knickknack that looks like a rubber duck wearing a Hawaiian shirt, Panama hat, sunglasses, and holding a margarita and a macaw parrot, a large bottle of LUSH Happy Hippy shower gel, an ornament, and cat treats. My aunt gave me a $50 Amazon gift card. Family friends gave me a philosophy shower gel and a set of Christmas cat kitchen towels. I have to say that it was a pretty good haul. I need another mug and more kitchen towels like I need a hole in the head but I appreciate the thoughts behind them. Same with the tropical duck. I have no more room to put that kind of stuff. (I made room) Still it was lots of good things and I'm happy that everyone thought of me.
