My dog is taking a stand.

How is my dog taking a stand? Maybe taking a stand is the wrong phrase. She’s still laying down under my blanket, refusing to move from the warmth she seems very content with. It’s 11am, and I wonder how long she’ll hibernate.

What exactly is it doing there right now, Amber? About 7 AM we had some of what I would have to call ice balls and sleet for a bit, then some whirling snow. Now it's just unbelievably cold...-4, wind chill negative 27 degrees.
Sadie has the right idea! Stay warm and safe, both of you.

The colder it gets, the more I worry that everyone's heat bill, including mine, is going to be astronomical! And this intense cold is dangerous, so many people could be affected and if this storm does what's expected, I fear the horrible icy conditions, etc. could cause a lot of deaths.
You and Sadie be safe....give her a pat from me!

@MarieCoyle I sure will! She’s moved from the bottom of the blanket to the top, where I am. She’s happy!
And yes, the heating bills will likely be crazy. I’m trying not to run it too much until the worst hits. Luckily, LIHEAP pays this month.

I've been reading but am still in bed with a blanket and sheet over my lower body... I can hear Pretty in her bedroom. (She has her bedroom door open.) but can't tell what she's watching. She might be playing a video game with her boyfriend... I can just hear a vague murmuring from time to time.)
I'll go out and start the car in a little while before it gets much colder. (We started at 21F this morning but the temp has fallen to 19F since then.)

I'm cold right now because I can't put the blanket around me when I'm typing. It was 7 below zero this morning. I am hunkering down and waiting for the storm. Stay safe and warm.
