I'm looking forward to my 'alone' 'time

In my last post I mentioned that Vince has gone to Thailand for a fortnight. I was surprised that members thought I might be lonely being on my own for that time.
It’s very kind of you all to be concerned but I really enjoy time alone. I have good friends just ten houses up the road, more good friends next door to them and I know a lot of the other residents in the village.
Vin and I go to the movies in the clubhouse each Tuesday and to the same place to socialise on Fridays and I’ll continue to do that while he is away. It sounds unkind but I’m more worried about being overwhelmed with company than being lonely. It’s only for a fortnight (two weeks) and I’m sure it will go in a flash. So thank you for your concern but please don’t worry for me.
The photo is another one from Thailand. Viince is trying to change the film in his camera and the baby elephant was throwing his weight around!

Two weeks is too short when you're having fun.

you probably should. Would a month be enough for you?

@toniganzon He was away once for six weeks and I went right through the house decluttering. I hardly noticed that he wasn't there! lol

Naughty baby elephant ! You won't feel alone when Vince is away, but you will feel concern over his life abroad.

@changjiangzhibin89 We spoke on WhatsApp today. Perhaps he will be able to make a video call. It's a great idea.

I have plenty to do so I won't be bored. I know you keep very busy and I never hear of you being lonely.

I would have wanted to go to Thailand, but you do travel quite a bit so the urge to explore probably isn't as strong.

It's really a photo group and at 79, travelling is getting a bit more complicated than it once was. A totally organised tour might have been one thing but, as I said, it's really a photo group.

I enjoy time to myself too. People on here just get concerned and care a lot about us all. It's a great group of people.

It is indeed but it hadn't occurred to me that some might think I'd be lonely.

I suppose many people like me think wives will miss their husbands if they're gone for 2 weeks but having read this brings to mind a friend of my moms, both were Army wives, who was relieved whenever her husband had a tour of duty for 18 months either on another base somewhere in the USA or overseas like in Germany at the time, neither of them was relieved if their husbands ended up in a war zone of course.

Yes, I can really relate to that. I can't imagine having someone live with me, it would be so weird for me.

That certainly is a great picture and Vince has had some awesome experiences.
Enjoy your alone time and hope your friends keep you company but not overwhelmingly so.

It's card night tonight so I'm looking forward to that. I've been watching some of the Australian Open Tennis matches too and they're up to the semi-finals now.

It’s like that for me when I go to the caravan. I used to go for the six weeks school holiday in the Summer ……a perk of working in a school …..and so many people would ask, what do you do, don’t you get lonely, 6 weeks is a long time to be on your own….all valid questions and thoughts, but, I usually have a busy hustle and bustle life and it’s lovely just to be on my own and do my own thing for a few weeks.
I understand that of course you will miss Vince, but I also understand that you will enjoy your alone time for two weeks.
Enjoy x

I think many people think of you and Vince as an inseparable couple. You are, but you’re also individuals. Hope he enjoys his time in Thailand, and I hope you enjoy your “quiet time.”

Oh, I know a person can really enjoy the ''me'' time! Some people never want to be alone, but I do enjoy me time, for sure. It's just hard to come by right now. But for now that's just how it is, and we will get through this.
Enjoy your time and do some things you love to do, Judy.

You are so right.
