I think my magnesium is low again.

Do you remember my trip to the emergency room back in September? It turned out my magnesium was a 1 when it should be a 1.9. I couldn’t stand or walk without help, and was short of breath. I had been throwing up for a long time before that due to a medication (I stopped it after the ER visit). Well, the past few days I have been throwing up, and it occurred to me I haven’t been taking my magnesium after I last ran out. Now, it isn’t nearly as bad as it was last time, and I just made a grocery order for Magnesium Glycinate. I also am no longer throwing up. I can’t believe I forgot to get more. Although, truthfully, I don’t think I could have kept it down these past few days.

Magnesium is a very much needed mineral for many different things. I am also always on the low side so take it daily. I also have a cream with magnesium in it that helps a lot. Glad you figured it out and are now feeling better!!

I just hope it doesn’t take a couple of days to kick in like last time.

@LadyDuck The hospital IV of magnesium took a couple of days, but that was probably because I was so depleted.

@AmbiePam - I hope that it would be a lot faster than a couple of days.

After Pretty's fun time at the hospital a couple of years ago when she had low magnesium, the doctor tests her blood every six months. Pretty's magnesium was low a few days ago again. At least we know what may be wrong when she starts feeling weak now. The doctor has her on magnesium and iron tablets when that happens. I hope you're feeling better and you won't forget to order more tablets when you run out again. Good luck!

Funny, I do as I know and I have not though about taking any vitamins or supplements. Now I wonder if I should get multivitamins. I hope that you feel better and the magnesium will help you,,

@AmbiePam One of my doctors recommended V8 original or the generic. We find it really helps with leg cramps, etc.

Magnesium will help your sleep and your migraines. I am glad you ordered more. Have you looked into adding magnesium rich foods to your diet as well?

Yes, I originally started taking it for migraines years ago, but got out of the habit when I quit seeing the neurologist. I need to look into the food situation. I know I have before.
