What happened in Boston stays here

I came down with Covid in June, so we had to postpone my birthday trip until July. I love Boston for its food and so does my husband. I love Boston for its shopping, unlike my husband.
My favorite stores are there, especially Saks Fifth Avenue, now going through bankruptcy issues. Happy to report that the 4 I visit won’t close.
Anyway, as soon as we walked into the Boston Saks, I became a bit disoriented for each Saks is arranged differently. A woman called Doe immediately offered her help and walked us to the Chanel department. I chose a purse to hold until later, because I wanted to go to the Chanel Boutique to see what they had.
Doe asked me if I needed anything else in the store, and I told her that I was going up to the shoe department. She beat us up there and was waiting for us. My husband didn’t like some of the shoes, so as we were about to leave, the shoe salesman told me they had a sale rack. Doe followed me. The only shoes I liked didn’t come in my size, but Doe found them for me. Nice and half price!
We went to the Chanel Boutique, which had the same bag and another one that my husband didn’t like. No shoes in my size and the ones available didn’t fit well. Bummer!
We went back to Saks and there was Doe! Bought the bag and that was that.
However, after breakfast and some shopping the next day, hubs and I parted company to do our own shopping. I returned to Saks and actually snuck around to Chanel. I had forgotten to look at sunglasses. I had already chosen a white pair that I desperately needed when Doe appeared. Since I also wanted a pair of new black sunglasses, she helped me find gorgeous ones. I then saw the same bag that my husband disliked and asked to see it. Loved it! When the salesperson told me that for $200 more, I could get the next size. I couldn’t resist
I thanked Doe for her help, but she followed me to the makeup counter! While I was being helped, she ran to another counter to get me some white eyelash stuff. I couldn’t remember the exact name, but knew who made it. She just asked for the white eyelash stuff and ran back with it.
She helped me to the door with my huge bags and off I went without looking at my receipts. That’s another story, but as annoying as Doe was, she was very helpful. I’m sure she worked on commission, but this was the first time this ever happened to me.
Photo is mine of hubs

Hubs looks healthy in that photo. I guess the leaner look suits him. Doe I assume is a personal shopper.

Thank you. He did knock off quite a bit of weight. He’s happier and probably healthier.
I don’t know who the heck Doe is supposed to be, but she was very annoying slithering up to me wherever I went. I have to admit that she made my day when she found the shoes in my size and those sunglasses.

The same assistant popping up everywhere I went in a store would have annoyed me. I'm glad you find that helpful.

She was very annoying. I kept telling her thank you and walked away, but there she was again ! However, she did help me, although given enough time, I probably would have found everything myself.
Now she texts me about every event or sale. I don’t shop there online anymore, so I plan to visit the 2 Saks stores down here in person. Hope they didn’t decide to hire followers.

Can you imagine if you go shopping in Florida and there she is?
I'd probably run out of the store screaming if that happened.
I'm glad Walmart didn't pay me commissions, although I would have made more money that way but I also didn't have to feel like I was bothering people, either.

Thanks. He knocked off a lot of weight over the last two years and is being careful of what he eats at home, but not so much at restaurants as you can see in the photo
Oh, no. I was almost murdered when hubs found out. I will tell the story about that.

You did shred the receipts before you got home so Hubs wouldn’t see them, didn’t you?

I prefer to shop alone. I think Doe was being so helpful because she works on comission. That is a nice photo of your husband.

I prefer to shop alone. She actually made me run out of the store without getting to look at any clothes. I couldn’t take her for one more minute and afraid to go back to Boston next summer. Hubs also thought it was due to her getting a commission, so can’t blame her for that.
Thanks so much! He lost some weight and grew in his facial hair. Of course, he can’t grow in any hair on his head

Looks like your hubby is trying to get into food and not think about your big shopping trip. Boy. I tell you when I was in my younger days I would love having a job like Doe does,
