We’re Getting an IKEA (LOL)

It’s funny how excited people get about new stores, especially chain stores. I remember years ago everyone here was excited about getting a Whole Foods. Up next? An IKEA. Until now, you had to go to Texas for the nearest one. Unfortunately (?), it will be in Tulsa, although I can go when I visit my sister (she lives close to Tulsa). I understand putting one there, but we’re also in talks to get a Bucc-ee’s in the next two years, and the location for that is kind of remote. I’m sure they know their stuff though. What was the last store you were excited to get in your area?

A Carrefour supermarket only because it's at walking distance from our apartment. I love to be able to buy my fresh bread every day.

We did get an Ollie's a few years back not far from here, everyone went nuts. We have a lot of stores, more than a person can ever go to. I can't even keep up with hearing about the restaurants that come and go. I love going to IKEA and looking around at everything, so does my family. We do not have a close one, the one we go to is about 2 hours away, and that only occasionally when someone is going that way. There has been talk of one. I would think with such a huge university it would be wildly busy. It's not like Walmart offers a lot in the way of furniture for students and people who are in need of it.

@AmbiePam I don't go there very often, but it's fun to stroll through there once in a while. Everything from soup to nuts to appliances, foods, you name it.

Dollar Tree, there is one in the bigger town about 25 minutes from here. Of course sadly the stuff all costs more than a dollar now, but you can still get some good bargains there.

I don't get excited about new-to-me stores. We usually just go to the local Walmart Supercenter and call that good. *shrug*

I don’t even make it to the Supercenter. I stick to the Walmart Neighborhood Market.

@AmbiePam We only have two grocery stores here. The Walmart Supercenter or the expensive store. Guess which one we use... (I do go to the expensive store for fresh chicken strips. I like their spicy breading on those. )

I heard there was going to be a Marks & Spencer food hall opening locally, it’s going to be in a town I can easily get to on the bus. I love their good. When you go to IKEA don’t forget to eat some of their meatballs ….they are delicious.

I wish we would get a Bucc-ee's here but I only know of them by reputation so I don't know if they even consider coming to Pa. I guess the last store I was looking forward to was Wendy's which would be right in our town but it was only rumors and we got an Urgent Care where the supposed Wendys was going.

Bucc-ee’s is the only gas station where I’d go out of my way to eat their freshly made food.

IKEA is popular here. I think they tried to start up years ago but the concept didn't take off at all. The store is very popular now though.

I wish we had a IKEA near us, but the closest one is quite a ways a way. Living in a town of 30,000 people and nothing else close by, I am always so excited for new stores.
